Re: THE Worst hallmark Christmas movie---Haul Out the Holly

I admit I turned off the haul out the ivy show almost immediately.

But along the lines of 'holly' titles ... I watched Holly & Ivy a few nights ago and loved it.

I think it was from 2020.

Holiday Hotline was pleasant to watch.  That's the only one I've gotten to this year so far.  Have several on DVR for those rainy or snowy days. Cat Happy

Just think... Haul Out the Holly actually has a sequel... Hallmark and the other Christmas movie channels all appear to have lost their mojo... Among the worst I've seen (for the limited time I could bear to watch before turning it off) was Santa Summit. Nothing redeeming about it. Not even great clothes or sets. Just really bad.

I like several old ones:

November Christmas (Sam Elliot, John Corbett, Karen Allen, Sarah Paulson)
The Most Wonderful Time of the Year (Henry Winkler, and whoever plays the male lead is handsome- maybe a soap star?)
The Christmas Card (Ed Asner)
The Christmas Visitor (William Devane, Meredith Baxter)

@stevieb  I thought of you recently when I landed on that movie about the two reindeer who used to meet at a lot or something like that because they had been separated. Not the main story of course but better than the one with the two human leads. It was called Northern Lights of Christmas which I only know because I did a search. Couldn't believe it has been five years since we had those enlightening discussions about that and other Hallmark movies. I used to feel so bad for VaBelle35. She was an avid HM watcher who used to start those threads for some positive interaction about the movies and there wasn't much of that from either of us. I even remember once stating we needed to start our own thread so we didn't continue polluting hers.

Since I no longer chat with you or get to read your well written/well thought-out comments regularly, hope you have a wonderful holiday season.

Re: THE Worst hallmark Christmas movie---Haul Out the Holly

I like Lacey Chabert and enjoyed the 2nd Haul out the Holly movie last night.  I like Ellen Travolta as well.  I didn't like the new neighbors from the start, and things got a bit rowdy, but the ending was nice.   I know most HOA's aren't like the one portrayed in these movies, but I'm still glad I don't live in a community with neighbors like this!

Holiday Greetings @Tique. I keep meaning to drop in on the thread you started post GH in, I think, Among Friends, but you know how it goes. Something, it seems, always distracts me. Yes, I recall our little trashing fests of the Hallmark movies and if anything, they've gotten worse, along with their clones on other networks. Barely watching the soap these days, it's just so bad, and don't post anymore. I swear a few of the regulars must sit before their keyboards all day posting, often upward of five or more times a day, either dissecting the show's trivia or trying to wow with their cuteness. Thanks, but all things being considered, I think I'll pass... Woman Wink

All of them..... Hallmark and it's new squeaky clean rival Great American Family, simply bring romance novels to the screen.  Their version though is romance and religion. When you mix those two...you get Great American Family.  Nostalgia is big in the U.S.  (or what they remember as nostalgia)  They've produced their own networks, etc.  They have their own stars and celebrities.  Remmber Lori Laughlin?  Well she's out of jail and doing her new acting gigs with Great American.  She got kicked out of Hallmark.  Candace is lucky as she's also has an executive position at Great American Family. So she'll be in charge of many produced films you'll see.

She might be in charge, but I won't be seeing them. After all, artificial sweeteners only go so far...
