@Shogirl wrote:Speaking of Daryl in a relationship, I read long ago that the producers thought to make his character ase*ual. Seems to be the case so far...
I read among the rumor mongers yesterday that Maggie and/or Daryl may kill Rick. THAT would be a surprise for the ages and would cinch my reasons for giving Maggie a swift kick off the show.
Honestly, I didn't think I'd like FTWD as much as I did because of all of the new characters, but I really warmed up to them and surprisingly didn't miss Maddie and Nick as much as I thought I would. In saying that, I hope that TWD's new characters are just as appealing to me so that it will make the departures of some key characters easier to take. I'm really going to miss Rick as an integral part of the show.
@Shogirl If Daryl kills Rick, would you want him off of the show? I doubt that would happen as Daryl has such a good following and many, not I, would be upset about that. It could be a fight between them and accidentally Rick dies, or self defense, or a bite, or maybe he wanders off with Judith to who knows where.

I agree with everyone, in general, this was a good episode. It was fun to watch where everyone is after a year and a half post Negan.
But Maggie. I liked the conversation she had with Rick. It looks like the Saviors are not going to assimilate. Maggie is tired of carrying their load. Seems things for the Hilltop haven't changed much, they are still providing for the Saviors. I get it, Rick doesn't. So there's a wedge right there.
Previews of the next episode looks like the Saviors are not with the program.
Daryl wants out and Rick is clueless.
If I didn't know about Rick Grimes leaving, I wouldn't think twice about the Saviors going bad, or Daryl wanting out & Maggie standing firm. But now I see while there is still loyalty to Rick, people are not looking to him as a leader.
If Negan gets his way, Rick's head will be on a stake, he pretty much told Simon as much when Simon suggested all of Alexandria be wiped out.
So will Rick be exiled? Walker bit? Leave in the helicopter?
If he dies, it better be epic!
@software I thought the problem with the Saviors was that their crops failed so they needed supplies from Maggie.
The Whisperers are supposed to be the new bad a**ses.
If Negan escapes, would the remaining Saviors welcome him back? Somebody did paint on the walls that they are still Negan, although Daryl had it painted over.
Hmm.
There was talk about crop failure, but after seeing the writing on the wall, literally, I wonder if the failure was deliberate. There is more wrong with the Saviors than just a crop failure.
@software I would not think the failure was deliberate. That would leave them in even shorter supply of food. Alexandria, Hilltop, and Sanctuary all have felt the effects of low supplies (Sanctuary with Negan not so much) so I'm not sure.

@mousiegirl, I just can't believe that Daryl, or Maggie for that matter, would kill Rick. If he lives, I think he's riding off into the sunset on that helicopter. LOL! If he dies, I think it will be at the hands of the Whisperers. I really can't see a good ending for him if he lives. It doesn't make any sense at all that he would leave Michonne and Judith, unless he was kidnapped. I don't see him being coerced into going somewhere by himself permanently. It seems more plausible that he's killed.

I think Andrew Lincoln is leaving the door open for a later return. He has said many times that this role has taken away from his family, so I'm thinking a break from the role.
Just like Lauren Cohan leaving for Whiskey Cavalier-the door is being left open for her, too.
Remember the writers/producers like to yank chains-just like they did when it looked like Glenn had died at that dumpster (which wasn't believable anyway, imo).

@Cakers3 wrote:@lmt They better not touch Michonne.
She also won an award for a play she wrote for off-Broadway. With her performance in Black Panther and other parts, she might just be able to write her own ticket for Walking Dead.
I don't see her being written out, though.
Odd about the comics-Carol died at the prison, Andrea lived and ended up with Rick, and Michonne was with Ezekiel.
Sophia lived and ended up with Carl, who doesnt' die in the comics. He actually befriends Negan while Negan is locked up.
I haven't bought comics since my days of reading Archie, Nancy, Little Lulu. LOL
But there are comparisons between Walking Dead comics and Walking Dead tv online so it's interesting to see how much plays out and how much changes.
@Cakers3 I agree about Michonne, I would hate to see her written out. Never say never though. As her career in movies takes off I wouldn't be surprised to see her leave.
And they better never kill off Carol. She's always been one of the best characters on the show. She started off as a scared abused wife and became a warrior princess.
@lmt I think Carol will be around for a long time. Doesn't Melissa McBride live in Atlanta?
I love how her character developed but I don't see her as a major leader overall, only because she went through a period of time of being fed up with the killing.
But her loyalty brought her back out. I think of her as a loyal person doing what she has to do in those fights but I think she's more content to be at peace living with Ezekiel.
I know I would be. LOL
Oh, and taking in Henry. She has a chance to have a family again, although I still wish they had knocked of Henry instead of Carl.

@Cakers3 Yes, during the last interview I saw he made it sound as if the door will be left open, but frankly, once someone is gone, they should stay gone as what is the point of coming back, unless of course he is kidnapped as @Shogirl mentioned, and once freed, comes back for his daughter, oh the suspense, lol.

I wonder if Michonne will be pregnant.
Judith is getting older, the baby from the Sanctuary is somewhere, and wee Hershel has yet to fit into any storyline.

@Cakers3 I wonder about the baby found in the santuary, I think Aaron has her. I also wondered how Michonne is not pregnant, but maye they found birth control in a pharmacy.

Andrew Lincoln intends to come back and direct next year. Fingers crossed that he doesn't get killed off and the door is open for him ro return.
Andrew Lincoln just can't stay away.
The Walking Dead star shocked fans when he confirmed his upcoming departure from the series at San Diego Comic-Con in July. But while we've been preparing to say goodbye to Rick Grimes in season nine, it looks like Lincoln might stick around for a while.
“I’m going back,” Lincoln recently told Entertainment Weekly. “I’m going back to shadow a director, and my intention is to direct next year.”
“I can’t be that far away because I can’t bear it,” he added with a laugh. “That’s how much I am invested in the show and the continuation of the story.”
Lincoln isn't the first "Walking Dead" star to step into the director's chair.
Michael Cudlitz (whose character, Abraham, was brutally killed off in the season seven premiere), returned to direct the upcoming seventh episode of season nine, "Stradivarius," which is set to air on Nov. 18.

@mousiegirl I think you might be right about Aaron. Last we saw the Sanctuary baby was when they were leaving to go into the woods at the final showdown with Negan, just before Oceanside blew up a group of Saviors at the fence. I don't remember him carrying the baby, though.
Rick handed the baby to Aaron in an earlier episode when Rick found the baby.
