@Pearlee @Oznell @Tique @drizzellla  and other fans of The Fuge -

Tuesday, August 29, 1967 - the day the running stopped!!   53 years ago today and I remember watching with my family. It was so well publicized, even though there was no social media back then.

@twinsister WOW! I remember "the day the running stopped" of course but didn't realize today was the anniv of it Thanks so much for posting. It was a sad day for me: the show was going off the air. 😩 But so fun now to still be watching and discussing it with our group of devotees.

After it went off the air, it was shown in reruns weekdays at 1:00 pm on one of our TV stations when I was in high school. The highlight of staying home sick was watching TF again, and my crush!

I remember hearing about it from friends and neighbors. They were all a buzz about it.  Even when school started the kids were still talking about it. Just like years later and who shot J.R. Ewing on Dallas.

I had never watched the show, so I didn't both watching the final episode.

@Pearlee  - You're welcome!  There was a post on Facebook today mentioning it was the anniversary of the finale, so I can't take credit for remembering!  I knew it was in August, but not the actual date.  Who knew back then that we would still be talking about it today.

Amazing, @twinsister --  thanks so much for alerting us!  For me, another big plus of our group is all the things we find out from each other that we wouldn't otherwise twig to!

I wonder what my family was doing that day.  My mother wasn't watching it in its first run, for some reason (I don't think, even though it was so her kind of show, and he was her kind of hero--she didn't glom on to it until our local station was showing it late at night), and I wasn't either.

As soon as I can boil some water, I'll raise a toast with my PG Tips tea to DJ, "the day the running stopped",  and our intrepid viewing gang!

I'm watching an older Law and Order and Robert Hogan is playing the judge. This show has to be at least 30 yrs after The Fuge, maybe more. He is thinner and has less hair and is wearing eyeglasses (to look like a judge! 😄 ) but still quite handsome. And his acting was really good. 👍
