Yes, in California 18 is the legal age to get married. It has always been the legal age even in 1965. State Law is not Federal Law which supercedes State Law. It’s called States Rights. State Law for drinking, for example has been changed to 21. However, you can drive at 16 in California. There was a time when you could drive the freeway at 110 in the left lane until Federal Law knocked it down to 55.
Should I go on, because I can. Miranda Rights is Federal Law having to do with arrests. Completely different. I know what you’re referring to but it has no place in this conversation

@chloe4578 Miranda Rights has a place in this conversation because it's an example of a conversation we had earlier relating to how laws (and in the example of Miranda rights, a U.S.Supreme Court decision that hadn't yet been decided) could be different in the 1960s when The Fugitive was filmed than what they are today.
I understand the difference quite well between state and federal laws.
I will not reply in the future to any more of your posts.
Enjoy the TV show.

All states may have diffent wording but some form of Miranda Rights is used upon arrest
All the Supreme Court did was say it was Constitutional as they have no jurisdiction over states rights. In that way it has become recognized as Federal. It’s a stretch but my opinion.
You can do as you wish. But I still say criminal law has nothing to do with getting married.
Have a good rest of your day and relax.

Yes, it was very frustrating at the time, but it is what it is. It is interesting to know that it’s not only our thread but happened on other threads
David Janssen was a great actor and made the character of Richard Kimble come alive. The conversations are sometimes so good that I wish they could be the whole episode. The one where Kimble ends up in the orphanage, I think it was called Uncle John or something like was so heartwarming. The conversations between Kimble and that kid was so great, I still think about it. Sometimes as @Oznell feels for Kimble, walking alone in the dark with that suitcase in hand touches you in the epilogue. I know what you mean. It was sad.
The Fugitive has become iconic with a huge fan base today because of DJ. I can’t imagine, even now, any actor but him as The Fugitive. Plus good writing doesn’t hurt!
