@loveschocolate After Thursday's episode, I was disgusted with the Sheila/Bill storyline. Now there is hope. Thanks for the spoilers. Maybe Bill will kiss Taylor. Problem solved.

If the unexpected couple turns out to be Brooke and Taylor, sorry, but I'll have to consider a hiatus from this one. My issue would not be with a gay couple, heaven only knows, along with mixed race couples, they've become a bit of an overkill TV staple. My issue is that having watched this show off and on since its inception, it's difficult enough to see these two as chums, but given their history, there's no way in hell these two are potential bed mates. Added to the other bad story telling, it would all just be a bridge too far. GIven the overall pathetic state of all the soaps these days, I'm considering going soap free in twenty three anyway, so this would just make the choice a bit easier. A shame really. I cut my teeth on soaps and stuck with them, off and on, over the years, but they've just all gotten so really poorly done on virtually every level and in every aspect.

@stevieb We have gone soapless I would guess November and December.  Not one episode and I come here to read about every week, and it reinforces our good decision!  The last episode we watched had Sheila and D-CON and she had on a wig. D-Con wasn't working on this rat. . .

There have been episodes where I've fast-forwarded through, especially when I see Sheila. I didn't fast-forwarded last week's episodes, but I kind of wish I had. Yuck! 

One of the many problems of these soaps is that the writers are not staying true to the characters and their history. I can buy Brooke and Taylor being civil with one another. Ok. But best friends? Lovers? No way. Especially when Brooke or Taylor have never expressed being interested romantically in the same sex in the past. I just wouldn't believe it. 

I know that soaps have some unbelievable plots. It's just that, now, the characters themselves are not believable. Their actions and words don't match each individual's history and characteristics. 

I'll end with this: soaps aren't fun anymore--if you understand what I mean. If you've watched soaps from back in the 80s, 90s, and even early 00s, there were fun rivalries--like Brooke and old Stephanie. I even liked Pam and Donna being rivals. I enjoyed when Forrester and Spectra were rivals. Even the rivalry of Forrester and Spencer Publications was fun. It was enjoyable to watch. Now, I say "what the..." or "this was boring" or "I don't care". It's very rare now to see the fun.

Yes Finn. Steffy is a big time cheater. Now you know she cheated on Liam

with Bill and then cheated on you with Liam. Sure, one moment of weakness,

is what she says, lame excuse. He buys it. That's your wonderful Steffy.

Maybe Dumbo will eventually turn to someone else. But doubt it.

Even though the storyline of Bill being simpatico with Sheila is so preposterous, I like the fact that Steffi doesn't get to call the shots..... No pun intended.  🚔
