It's a special celebration on TCM this evening as the cable channel bids 2013 adieu and welcomes 2014 with back-to-back airings of That's Entertainment!, Parts 1- 3, followed by That's Dancing! These compilations of some of the greatest production numbers from many of MGM's more than 200 musicals are a special treat for fans. It's thrilling to witness the superb artistry of Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, Donald O'Connor, Debbie Reynolds, Judy Garland, Ann Miller, Cyd Charisse, Esther Williams and countless others in such magnificent musicals as Singin' In The Rain; The Wizard of Oz; An American In Paris; The Bandwagon; Easter Parade; The Harvey Girls and many, many more. It began at 8 PM tonight and continues through 6:30 AM tomorrow, concluding with a documentary salute to the Arthur Freed Unit at MGM in Musicals Great Musicals. It's probably better than any New Year's Eve party imaginable and there's no more enjoyable way for fans to spend the evening.
