Separate Tables is a must see! I have my recorder ready to tape. Wendy Hiller is wonderful in this as is Burt Lancaster and Academy Award winner David Niven, which he won for this movie.

Re: TCM Thursday: Stage to Screen Oscar Nominees/Winners

Separate Tables is one of my favorites and I view it over and over.

I have the DVD with narration by director Delbert Mann.

I love how he was surprised by the addition of the theme song over the credits (sung wonderfully by Vic Damone) and hated it so much that he refused to work with the producers ever again!

Also, May Hallatt, who plays Miss Meacham, was brought to the film from the London and New York productions, even though it's a fairly small role.

A rehearsal picture, with Rita, Burt, Wendy, David and Deborah.
