TCM - The Shop Around the Corner

[ Edited ]

9:45 p.m.   This is the film with Jimmy Stewart and  Margaret Sullavan that You've Got Mail updated for the electronic age.  It's worth watching, although I do like YGM better, due to the Hanks-Ryan chemistry.

The Wizard of Oz (Frank Morgan) has a major role too.

The film is from 1940, the year after the W of Oz was made.

And prior to this movie is Brief Encounter.  Both worth watching.  Excellent acting by all.

These are two of my all-time favorites. I’ve said before that the ending to Brief Encounter is just the best. It makes the entire movie even better!

Two of my "must watch" films. Thanks for the reminder!

Re: TCM - The Shop Around the Corner

I first watched Brief Encounter because of a recommendation by Robert Osborne. Every once in awhile TCM would have an evening of Robert's picks. I would always try and watch.
