Baby Doll - Karl Malden, Carrol Baker, Eli Wallach
A child bride holds her husband at bay while flirting with a sexy Italian farmer.
This movie has forever changed the way I looked at Karl Malden professionally & personally. He played the part just too d@mn convincing for me.

Mourning Becomes Electra - Rosalind Russell, Kirk Douglas, Raymond Massey
Repressed passions and shameful secrets destroy a New England family during the Civil War.

I loved this movie! Thank you for the heads up on this. Karl Malden was a great actor.

Ahhh...the good old days when men could marry children and women were owned like chattel.

REALLY!? Not liking an actor because he played his part too well????????

@divagirl101 I agree, why does it have to come down to that? Why not realizing perhaps he was just a great actor? Look at everything else he did.
When a woman plays a prostitute (errr...I mean a sex worker) is it assumed she is one?
That's why they're called actors (male/female). That's why we aren't all in the movies and on TV. It's called 'talent'.

YUP! Every movie I've seen Karl in after Baby Doll all I see is Archie Lee! Even when he starred in the tv series "The Streets Of San Franciso."
I just can't get Archie Lee out of my mind.

Well, to me it's like that with John Travolta. I still see him dancing.
John Cusack is one of my favorite people (I don't like the word star). I still see him holding the boom box in "Say Anything"
One of my favorite movies (it just stays with me) is Room 1408...

He's an amazing underrated actor.
Clint Eastwood will always be "Dirty Harry" to me.
But I also like him in those scrunchie (made up word) spaghetti westerns...."Fistfull of Dollars" and "Outlaw Josie Wales" to name a few.
Humm?? According to some maybe he was a real bad guy who killed and rode horses? Just kidding....
I know what you mean. I think they're just good actors. I also love Keanu Reeves but I can't get the thought of him fighting the Devil out of my head. I try to squish it by remembering him in my favorite of his movies John Wick
