I saw this on tv this morning before work. Beautiful tribute.

I know I'll be in the minority here, but I thought this year's tribute fell flat. I even posted this on YouTube. I could barely keep up with the names and images. One poster even stated he was glad he was a speed reader because they rushed through it so fast. For me, the gold standard was 2012. To this day, I've never seen such a beautiful tribute that married cinema to the folks who brought it to us. It was so lovingly put together. Haunting and heartfelt at the same time.

I've seen it a couple of times. Too bad there's no way of knowing when you can view it on TV. Thanks for the post.

I've seen this tribute several times now on TCM and I thought the same thing. They showed the people very fast. Maybe because there were so many deaths and they have a limited time??? I don't remember 2012!!! although I'm sure I saw it at the time. It's nice that they do a tribute but this one was lacking.

I thought that this tribute was exceptionally moving and skillfully done, as have been all of the TCM Remembers.
The music (The Night We Met by Lord Huron)) adds immeasurably to the emotional impact and the editing is excellent. Another Lord Huron song was used in TCM Remebers 2018.
I would say that it is one of TCM's better efforts.
As occurs every year, there are omissions. My only "gripe" would be the absence of Sally Kellerman, Michael Callan and Joanna Barnes.
That said, I still find the work to be masterful and far superior to anything that the Academy of Motion Pictures presents.

There were a few surprises for me. Conrad Janis!! When I was just a little girl I had a crush on him. Dunno why. He had a way about him I think. There were others but they went so fast I could hardly absorb what I was seeing/reading. They only gave them 4 minutes. Sad.
