Evenings entertainment:  setting around the fire while one guy sings.  Talk about the simple life.

I have to laugh to compare it with things today.  Like 2 different worlds, and it really is.

Did you ever watch David Copperfield?  A lot of old stars from other shows  in this one.

It's an old black and white.

Can't imagine living with only candles for light.

And what a cast. George Cukor directed the movie. I never read the book but wonder if it was tidbits of the book.

Glad I did not have to eat the venison(?) that was being cooked(?). A whole different lifestyle.

Another of my favorite Dickens' characters is Miss Haversham from Great Expectations. .

Of the numerous things I love about this movie - it is so true to the novel.  I watch it whenever it comes on.

Love Aunt Betsey Trotwood!  Edna May Oliver is a wonderful actress.
