Survivor: SanJuan del Sur - Wed 11/5

I have been watching this season off and on (it's boring). I just started watching it this evening because I'm trying to clear out my DVR.

Now these people are supposed to be on some island (I understand they aren't far from a fancy hotel actually).

Anyway, I see the Mother of the Mother/Daughter group and she's wearing cowboy boots! Are you kidding me?

But I saw these guys walking around shirtless and it's been ....how long and their chests still look like they are shaved (or whatever is done to them). I know they have some facial hair, but come on!

Once again, reality isn't really reality. I guess they figure it would loose their appeal if they had hair on their chest? What?

I think I must be nitpicking. But this is stupid.

I'm sorry, I had to vent.

This is the first Survivor series that I haven't been watching and I've watched every series since the beginning. I watched one episode from this series and that was it for me. I just didn't care.

Re: Survivor: SanJuan del Sur - Wed 11/5

jade the reason I started it was because I heard on Entertainment Weekly interviews done by the hosts of everyone who was going to be on the show while they were waiting to start the show. The contestants could watch each couple, but couldn't talk to each other.

It was interesting to hear them give their preconceived ideas of how they (the couples) were going to play out the game and what they thought of each couple.

As I watch it, it seems like everything goes haywire almost from the beginning. I think (don't hold me to it) that it was the mother/daughter that was going to use 'hand singles' to help them compete.

There were so many things worked out ahead of time and from what I've seen they (none of the couples) were able to use any of their ideas because some were immediately kicked off or voted, etc. I haven't seen all of the shows or all of a show but this what I've observed.

I agree that it is very boring. I think I have a short attention span though so I don't know what kind of judge I am.

One more thing. That guy, Jeff Probst (I think that's his name) his constant narration of what is going on and their names during the contests drives me crazy, so I use my MUTE button and that settles that problem.

I've found that useful during QVC and HSN also. Perhaps that's why the hosts don't bother me as much as some people. Just mute them out, that's what I do.

Annabelle (which was also the name of my cat, but she was tiny -- not even eight pounds full grown, so I took out the extra 'n" and "l" because the name seemed longer than she was, my darling Anabel) --

I have watched every season and this is the only bad one.

One hopes it gets better but can't get too much better.

John Rocker and his duck-lipped girlfriend (separated at birth from Lisa Rinna?) helped ruin it. What a little witch she is, stealing food. And boo hoo'ing because she doesn't have her baby without ever taking responsibility for STEALING FOOD.

I guess it will be somewhat fun watching the couples pick one another off like black widow spiders but overall it's been a dull one, with universal agreement.

BTW the hotels are to house the crew, the camerapeople and producers and executive producers including Probst. they are not near enough that any contestants can see them but near enough that at the end of a day they can all get there.

Although Ponderosa, which you will encounter soon on line, is very cushy. That's where jury members are sent as they are voted off.

They all look very slick and well groomed these last few seasons. No way do I believe they don't have access to fresh water, shampoo, toothbrushes/paste, razors, soap, etc.

I remember when those items were the "Rewards" and the women had hairy legs and armpits after a couple of weeks. Or they got excited when the "Reward" was toilet paper! {#emotions_dlg.ohmy}

As for "duck-lips": what a whining crybaby she was. I did have to laugh last night when she cried about how cold she was while wearing a bikini. At least she finally covered up.

The idea of "Blood vs Water" ? when most of the couples aren't related is kinda lame, too. Other than the AR sisters, the horrid Mother/daughter team and a couple of Dad/kid, the rest are "dating". This show has lost all credibility.

I think the biggest surprise for me this season is that I 'm not as put off my Natalie as I was when she was on AR. Maybe having to "survive" for a bit without her sister is maturing her.

Husband loves the show and we watch it together. We're both kinda bored this season. Don't know why.

For me, I don't like any of them. There's nobody I want to root for.

Lori, Annabelle was the name of (at the time) my favorite cat. She was the mirror image of another cat I had. We saw Annie in the yard, brought her in (she'd been declawed and was out running around). She was tiny and a calico cat One day I received a piece of mail addressed to annabellethecat....just like that. Hence, my name.

I liked your story about your baby too, Lori. Animals come in, take our hearts, but give us more than we can give them. Unlike people they never hurt us.

This website explains a lot about Survivor. I don't know how to paste it so you can click on it.

The headline is SECRETS OF SURVIVOR and is an interview by Jeff Probst.

Re: Survivor: SanJuan del Sur - Wed 11/5

I have loved and watched every episode of Survivor since it's inception. Watched in the hospital right after both of my babies were born. At 11 and 15 we all now watch as a family and have loved it . This season has to be one of the dullest ever- by FAR!!

Still watching and will continue....but where oh where is Boston Rob when you need him?? LOL
