Paramount recently announced a prequel to Grease is in the planning stages. 

It will center on Sandy and Danny's summer romance during summer break. Some are speculating it will be told from each one's viewpoints as they remember it - Sandy, a sweet romance, and Danny, a little more passionate. According to one release Danny, as a lifeguard, comes to Sandy's aid when she gets caught in the waves. 

John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John have both said they will appear in the film, in some capacity, maybe grandparents (?)

It will be interesting to see who they hire to play Danny and Sandy. Of course, we won't see the Rydell High group, since Danny tells them about his experience - he obviously didn't see them much during the summer. Maybe the writers will work them in somehow, but I don't see how. 

So what do you think? I'm a huge fan of Grease, and I will look forward to this. Some are saying the magic can't be captured again, and I agree with that, but I think it will be cute.

I'm just worried they will make it a little more risque to attract the millenials and Generation Z group! 

It will be a musical, with new songs written for it. 

Now I can't get the song out of my head!

I think it is a great idea, I loved the movie.

I loved Grease, so am hopeful they will do a good job with the Prequel....Casting will be crucial.....
