We're having guests for Movie Night this weekend and since it's close to Halloween I thought it would be fitting to choose a scary movie.

You should know that we're all in our 60s and I haven't seen a scary movie since The Exorcist was in the theater!

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good scary movie that isn't bloody and gory?

The Haunting.  The black and white original with Julie Harris from 1963.

Very atmospheric, no blood or gore.  

It is my favorite scary movie!

Scariest movie I've ever seen in my life (admittedly, I haven't seen many) was Sorry, Wrong Number with Barbara Stanwyck.

These are all scary, but not gory.  They're very atmospheric with intriguing storylines and good acting. They won't keep you up at night and there's no pea soup spewing!  lol

Since very young, I cannot watch any kind of scary movies, I have read that the movie, The Conjuring 1 & 2 are pretty scary!  Also read, the movie crew and actors encountered strange happenings while filming, YIKES!

I'm with Godi on Young Frankenstein.  It's not scary or gory but It's more a Romp.  SO many funny moments.  You can just see how everyone was having a great time making the film.  that would be my choice for a Halloween movie to see with friends.

"The Witch" - set in puritan New England.  Creepy!!

Gremlins.

They look so cute, but some of them are downright evil! You're watching a normal scene when, all of a sudden, one of the bad gremlins bursts out and attacks! We saw it in a theater when it was first released. You would have thought the woman next to me was my best friend by the number of times we grabbed each other when the bad gremlins attacked. We were perfect strangers.
