Suddenly QVC in HD is not on my TV?

I've always been able to get it on HD on channel 806. Now suddenly something is on that isn't even HD. I don't know what it is.

Help! I can still get it on channel 6 but it's not HD. Anyone here with comcast have any idea what channel I need to go to?

I guess I'll have to call them tomorrow. Keep forgetting to do it because I am so fed up with QVC I don't watch it like I used to. I have to send back almost everything I buy.

Just tomorrow alone (I swear I'm not exaggerating) I have counted 1 pair of shoes, 7 pair of pants (4 the same style), Susan Geller Jacket, 2 blouses, etc.

I called and canceled everything else. QVC doesn't care. Nothing fits anymore. It's all way too big.

Anyway, I'm just trying to find out from you guys where it is on Comcast? What happened?

I don't have Comcast, but I know that with my cable co I can go to the website and there's a place to punch in my zip code to see what channels there are for my market. I'd sure think that Comcast should have the same type of thing. I hope, anyway! Smiley Happy

Re: Suddenly QVC in HD is not on my TV?

I don't know how far wide this change goes but I talked via computer (whatever it's called) and just ranted to COMCAST about making changes and not notifying their customers.

For anyone affected by this change the new channel number is798. It used to be 806 which is not HD. It used to be that everything above 200 was considered HD, that no longer is true.

I have been going back and forth about changing to Verizon, I hate change, but this is stupid.

Did you guys know COMCAST is in negotiations to take over the largest cable company (I want to say Time Warner) but don't quote me (Java probably knows) and if they do they will have unbelievable power.

I pay extra money (no bundling) just so I don't get locked into any of these companies. My cable bill is almost $200 per month, just for cable. If I wanted to bundle it it would be way less.

Just wanted anyone interested to know this is the new number. I know there are others out there who have had this change.

From what this person said Comcast and QVC are negotiating. I told them I thought only Direct TV pulled this stuff (no answer typed). Evidentally this person said I was the only one who contacted them about the change. It definitely isn't my cable box, so there you go people.

Phew! Now I'm worked up and it's only 11:00AM!

Re: Suddenly QVC in HD is not on my TV?

It's too bad they keep it where people cannot choose between cable companies in a given market. The one I hear/read the most complaints about is Comcast.

It's Charter where I am and it's mostly fine. None of them are perfect, unfortunately. But Charter doesn't advise of every change either. The only reason I get notice of cable channel line up changes is because I have Tivos and Tivo sends you a message of any line up changes. Only when Charter does a HUGE change of the whole thing do they send out the info.

It sounds like Comcast charges WAY too much, though! We have ALL the channels, including the Premium channels, three cable boxes, two CableCARDs, and it's $120+ a month. One thing I like is that they made it all HD a while back so they don't charge extra for that. The little cable boxes they have now have HDMI and the A/V so if you have an HDTV you just plug it into the HDMI and if you still have the old CRT TVs you can plug them into the old A/V ports (the red, yellow, white). I hope all of them have gone to that instead of charging extra for HD.

Anyway, I'm glad you found the channel.

Re: Suddenly QVC in HD is not on my TV?

Thanks chicken. I just hate change. It seems like every time I change something it causes problems. Most people don't have time to stay on the phone or computer trying to get problems fixed, so they just stay and live with the problem.

Well, I don't work, I'm old and have time to be a pain in the neck! Ha! I don't mind paying for something that is a fair price.

There was a time when I was really poor (back in the 60's) when I lived with my sister. I know what it's like to only be able to afford important things. It never leaves you. Now I have plenty of money to do what I want with it. Big deal, right? Life's joke.

Anyway, I think they should treat regular people the same. This world is so money crazy it makes me sick.

In the past few years we are truly a country of Have and Have Not. If you have money you can get and do anything. The irony is if you have money you end up paying less. I can stay at a Ritz Carlton Hotel and pay about what others pay for a Motel 6 because they want my business for other investments. It isn't fair to others.

My daughter (who is single and has no children) pays through the nose in taxes. She can't claim much in taxes. She is one of the ones who is supporting that word we aren't allowed to post here.

Anyway, this has nothing to do with cable. I'll shut up. thanks chicken for posting.
