A new PBS Special - Steve & Edyie - Memories of my Mom and Dad hosted by their son David will begin airing on PBS stations nationwide the weekend of Dec. 2nd. There will be clips from their appearances on variety shows, etc. It will be repeated during the holiday season. Here in NYC it will air on Saturday at 7PM.
I'm a fan and remember seeing them on Ed Sullivan and other variety shows in the 1960's and their songs "Blame it on the Bossa Nova" and "Go Away Little Girl".
My DVR is set. Anyone else a fan?

I found this show on one of our public TV channels by accident and watched it. It was wonderful and brought back memories of when they were popular. I wish we could have more shows like this. They were so good together.

Funny, was just speaking of them yesterday, as we listened to classic Christmas tunes in a restaurant we were in...we kept trying to guess who was singing. I must have said "Steve Lawrence!" 4 times and was wrong, haha...but some of those crooners sounded similar to me, I guess. I mean Sinatra's a given, and Bing...but I mixed up Andy Williams with Steve at one point...sounded similar to me.
Anyhoo...
My memories of Steve & Edie were in the 70's when I worked at a summer theater-in-the-round here in CT, "Oakdale Theater", and they often performed there. They were more my parents' generation to me then, but I always thought he was handsome and they were such a great couple/performance act, great chemistry together. They really seemed like they loved each other and performing together.
Now that I'm more "my parent's age", lol...I appreciate them even more and am nostalgic about them. Thanks for the heads-up...I bet that special is going to be great. Looking forward to it!
I gave up cable last year, but I'm pretty sure I'll be able to stream it on PBS.
