Stars Who Were "Overnight Successes" (Supposedly)

I love watching old TV shows.  One of my favorites are all of the Law and Order franchises (ie Special Victimes and more).  I always click to check and see when the episode was first aired.  Most of the one's shown today were first on in 2001.

A recent 2001 had Elisabeth Banks, Paul Mark Glasser, Janet Jamesen in one episode.

I always think it's interesting finding out just how long some of these stars have been around.  I guess they've worked hard at their 'craft' (as they now call it.

That started me wondering if there are some big stars now who have been around for a long time.

If you can think of some that goes way back (and you're in the mood, please post here.  Thanks,

I was watching an old CSI: Miami one day, and Channing Tatum was on it.  I don't remember what year that would have been.

Nick, don't you think it's fun to see the difference sometimes even 5 or more years makes, especially in technology?

I get a kick out of seein the differences in cell phones and computers.  Hairstyles have stayed similar in the past 5 years, but before that remember the poofy hair-do's the women had?

Yes, I think it's really interesting.  The poofy hair-dos were interesting.  I remember when I wanted my hair to look like Donna Mills' on Knots Landing.  When I look at those pictures now my hair looked awful.  Smiley Embarassed

One of the things I notice when I watch Diagnosis Murder, Murder, She Wrote and others is how different the computers and cell phone were when the show's first aired versus the end of the reign of the shows.  We won't even talk about the hair styles and make up.

Probably lots from soap operas - from As The World Turns churned out Julianne Moore, Meg Ryan and Marisa Tomei (correct me if they were from a different soap - am I remembering correctly that Meg and Julanne actually played the same role?)

Leonardo DiCaprio from ... Family Ties? Who's The Boss? One of those shoes, during its final years.

I've always been a big "Law & Order" fan and yes, there are many who got their start on that show.  Ellen Pompeno & Kat Walsh from Grey's Anatomy, Felicity Huffman of Des. Housewifes, Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Viola Davis did one of the Criminal Intent shows.  Many Broadway "working actors" also appeared on the Law & Order franchise over the years.  I got to NYC 3-4 a year to visit DS and always go to a show and have a lot of fun trying to guess which actors have appeared on L&O.  Their bios in the Playbill usually state if there were on L&O.  The women who plays Chris Noth's mother on the Good Wife was in Follies a few years ago and it was a treat to see her in that.
