SpectrumCharter pulled all Disney owned channels

[ Edited ]

I'm not sure if this is just in my area but I had a message from Spectrum this morning that states that all Disney owned channels were pulled from my line-up due to a breakdown in negotiations over carrier fees.

That includes ABC and ESPN (just in time for football). I see my cable bill going up again 😩

@simplyfriends I have DirecTV and we haven't had CBS and some other channels all summer.  Still don't.  Funny, I still have CBSSN which is a sports channel.  I would've expected that to be tied to CBS. Their negotiations are with Nexstar.

No,  it's not just your area; it's nation-wide for Spectrum victims.  There was a thread about this here a few days ago.

Yep my Disney channel is gone.  There is a monologue saying it is Disney's fault and Spectrum is trying to keep costs down.  HA!  Then why does my bill keep going up.  I do still get ABC though.

It started friday night. I don't like it, but i'm siding with spectrum. Disney is trying to make as much money as they can because they are in bad finacial shape.

They will probably compromise on something, but i hate that our already big cable bill , will go up more.

I hate these network squabbles.  I couldn't even tell you what company it is, but I used to be able to rely on a small channel that played old sitcoms (Two and a Half Men, Mom, etc.)  I work out late in the evenings most of the time and I like to have something on the tv to watch without having to get into a 3-hour movie.  Channel 1005 always filled that need until about 3 months ago.  I keep checking daily to see if the conflicts have been resolved but nothing yet.

Yes, my husband is so lost without his beloved ESPN.....He is home on a medical leave after having Hand Surgery, so he watches even more of ESPN, and so now its painful for him....I suppose they will get it solved in the next couple of weeks though, I hope!!!!

I don't support Disney's recent decisions, so I don't care if the channel is pulled.  Maybe spectrum felt that people would not care if it was included in their line-up as a result of their decisions.  Spectrum's priority is money not programing or considering its clients so I suspect this decision was money biased.

The only time I ever watch ESPN is during the NCAA men's ice hockey tournament. The early tournament games are on their on-line only channel, and the finals are on one of the "regular" broadcast channels. I imagine they'll have their tiff ironed out by the end of March/early April of next year.
