Happy 90th to Shirley and Richard! I love RC, and watched Dr, Kildare as a child, but my favorite role of his was the Thorn Birds.

I saw him in person and he was even more handsome. My friends and I couldn't stop staring at him and he waved at us. We acted like teenagers, but we were in our 30's.

Yes I played with Shirley when I was younger. She had a cousin in the small town in Pa. where I was born, and she lived in another small town but would come visit. I am 90 too.Her grandfather owned Stoney Jones brewery. Takes me back abit. Glad to hear she's still living. Happy Birthday Shirley.

Wow! Hard to Believe they are 90.. Richard Chamberlain will always be Father Ralph to me....Shirley will always be the Partridge Family Mom!!!

I loved Richard Chaberlain in The Thornbirds!! Loved that movie

I like musicals, so I have watched Shirley Jones so many times, especially in Oklahoma and Carousel.

Richard Chamberlain was fantastic in The Thorn Birds, but he will always be John Blackthorne in the original Shogun to me!

DH and I saw him play Henry Higgins in a touring production of My Fair Lady.

Interesting trivia: The late Yoko Shimada, who played Blackthorne's love interest Mariko, lived with Richard in Hawaii for a year after filming ended. Supposedly it was to improve her English (although she spoke some) and give her a boost in her acting career. Back then, I didn't know anything about Richard's personal life, and I kept hoping they would marry and stay together. They had such good chemistry in Shogun! LOL!
