I was confused about what was going on in the bar scene as well. Maybe they wanted to leave us hanging? I can't stand Madeline's husband. He acts like a pouty teen. As others have said, they don't fit well together as a couple.

@jpie - you're right - that's exactly who they are! Tori is Joseph's wife. She also recently tried to show her new boobs off to Ed in the grocery store. He didn’t look at them, even when she said her husband got angry about men always noticing them. Ed just walked away disgusted. That must have been the set-up for this scene. Joseph, Madeline's former love, looked anything but angry in the bar. Those two are playing games with Ed and Maddie. Why? Are they just swingers, or is there more to meet the eye? I recall Tori confronting Maddie after the car wreck last season in a strange way, too.
I figured that Ed treated Nathan so badly, just because he's Maddie's ex. Or does he need a reason?
I get you with rewarding the 3 boys after being suspended from school. Bad, mixed signals. The twins already behave as little wildlings half the time. Look out Mary Louise! I could see her rage building as she watched the moms enjoying time with the boys in the lit apartment. It's spiteful revenge she wants for Perry.
No way could I work in that school because of all the Prima Donna Mommas! It sure makes for good viewing, though. 😅

Good recall! I had forgotten the grocery store boob-a-licious scene. Wow, what would have happened if Ed had reacted? Tori is not half as attractive as Madeline, but Joseph is much more handsome than Ed. Go figure! Looks really are secondary...
The twins are wild. I blame that on Perry and all of that scary monster junk that seemed endless. When there is abuse, kids know it. It can only be covert for a brief time before young kids figure out the real situation.

Forgot to add, @jpie - your description of Bonnie is perfect. Always searching for peace, since she has none within. Maybe she fears that she's more like her mother than she wanted to believe, and pushing Perry down the stairs confirmed it for her, in her damaged mind.
Could be that Elizabeth was abused in her childhood, too, so knows this and secretly blames herself for her daughter's suffering, too. Maybe she thinks if Bonnie kills her, they'll both be free.
Poor Skye! Hope it doesn't go that way... Bonnie pulling the plug, then attempting or committing suicide. 😰
@colliemom4 - many thanks! We have two more episodes to go then!
I can't wait to see how it all turns out. You ladies make it that much more interesting to watch.
I'll meet you back here soon!

@jpie @Q-Anu @colliemom4 @TurnerGal reading your comments I gained insight into some things that were not clear for me. Thank you. That's always what I hope for when I read/participate on threads regarding a show.
Here is my perception of Ed; most of this was formed during Season I. I believe he really loves Madeline but has always doubted that she loves him the same way. As he said to her last week, on their first date he felt like he was being interviewed by her. That was her defense mechanism. She was trying to ensure she didn't end up with another Nathan - at least her version of Nathan since in Madeline's opinion, Bonnie has the new and improved Nathan both as a husband and a father.
Ed's opinion of Nathan is primarily based on whatever Madeline has been telling him over the years. Even though Nathan has changed and Ed has witnessed that, his loyalty is to Madeline. Add all that up and we get the Ed we are seeing who now feels all his prior insecurities were warranted. I left off how deflating it must have been to find out his wife had an affair and she had discussed it with her teen age daughter. Wow! However Ed is acting now, he's get my vote of "he's entitled". At least for a little while.

Yes, that was weird that Madeline told her daughter about the affair and that's how Ed found out, ouch!

@jpieI would think most people wouldn't share something like this with their children. What was she thinking? Obviously she wasn't. If her daughter just happened to find out that would be one thing but sharing this with her was very selfish IMO.

I found these articles which might be of interest to others especially since there is only episode left for this Season.

With only two episodes remaining in the current season of Big Little Lies, fans want to know if there will be a season three. If you remember, the show took a long hiatus between the first two seasons as no one seemed sure that the show would return for a second season.
Now, amid rumors and various reviews about the current season, questions are coming up about the status of a third season. HBO hasn’t announced its plans for a renewal yet, but early murmurings say that season three might not happen.
In an interview with TVLine, HBO president Casey Bloys stated that the show’s continuation is “unrealistic.” The reasons? One of them has to do with the difficulty in wrangling all the actresses together to shoot season three.
“I love this group of people – I would do anything with them. But the reality is, they are some of the busiest actresses working in Hollywood. We have deals with some of them — Nicole [Kidman] is doing her next show with us. I just think it’s not realistic.”
It’s believed the women who make up the Monterey 5 will have their major storylines wrapped up by the end of this season, though in theory, the show could still go on. Will they all go down as a collective for Perry’s death? Is Bonnie going to tell the cops the truth or end up drowning as we saw in her mother’s visions? There are questions surrounding whose marriages will survive the season and whose will fizzle out for good. It’s possible that fans will see permanent closure with these stories and say farewell to the characters for good.

What did everyone think of last night's show? I found it less exciting than I hoped it would be. Next week is the finale. I read that there probably won't be a season 3 as these actresses are all extremely busy and Nicole is working on something else right now.

Thanks for posting this. Source: Showbiz Cheat Sheet just muddies the waters, at least in my thought process. Is this just a ploy by HBO to string us along? I will hang in for a third season if it happens. This strategy may however, lose some viewers. My hair stylist and I used to talk about season one. She no longer watches and said she gave up on the show before season two.
There are so many story lines that are dangling. How will it wrap up the viewer questions in one episode to end the series? I hope it's not like Game of Thrones, where they rush through the final episode(s), and destroy the characters that have been developed throughout the series. Just the messed-up marriages/relationships alone should take another three episodes!
We need a third season. Delay it if need be to get the actresses together, but give the loyal viewers a well deserved finale! I could only guess which actress is playing the prima donna bit! Give me a break!!!
