Say Yes to the Dress

I'm binge watching Say Yes to the Dress (I'm a wedding dress geek lol) and they showed a preview for the new season on March 8. Well apparently there is going to be a new male consultant to take on Randy. Why do these shows have to do this ? Adding all this overdone soap opera drama is ridiculous.

I guess I've been binge watching also. Second granddaughter is engaged and will be married later this year, so I have a bit of a personal interest since I'm buying her gown. They can put on as many "extra and unnecessary" guys as they like, but Randy will be my favorite regardless of who comes on. Actually a second man may well be the end of my watching. Just not needed. Falls under the hearing of If It Ain't Broke, Don't Fix It.

Last season they already introduced the new male consultant. He wasn't wildly received by Randy to say the least. Love watching SYTTD!

I don’t think Randy actually works for Kleinfeld’s anymore, other than to do the TLC show. I believe he left Kleinfeld’s in 2012. I think he only comes in when they are actually filming the show and makes it appear like he is still there on staff. Unless he wants off the show (and I can’t imagine giving up the exposure and a nice check for a few days’ work) he probably is unhappy about this guy suddenly being incorporated into the show. The push for it must be coming from Kleinfeld’s. It will be interesting to see what happens…he is such an integral part of the show.

He is the one person who has been in every episode since he first appeared – he is the face of the show. I remember when the most of the ladies who were the sales reps would get so frustrated when he joined their sales appointments – it was clear most felt they had been successful before he arrived and didn’t need his help. I think he had been a wedding dress designer before coming to Kleinfeld’s. I would hate to see him go.

He may have been. But I also think (and don't quote me on this), he used to dress as a bride in competitions or something. They showed a picture of him once all glammed up like a bride.

I'm also yttd junky. I don't even care if it's a rerun. I love it when they bring dresses from out of " The VAULT ". Some of the price tags are horrendous. I love it when they say no budget.

@leighagemini I saw the episode with the new guy, haven't seen him since. Seriously don't believe they will keep him on...he is not a team player and came across as a know it all... It's been quite a few months since seeing him...if I recall he is not a bridal specialist...but had worked with one designer or did ruways..quite a diva..not sure why SYTTD hired him. If I were a bride, would not work with him....too over the top for my taste.
