Nicole Kidman has been in at least two movies that could fit that scenario...albeit one is set in North America and the other in Australia.

@MESPal  - Are you sure it wasn't Sally Field?  I think she made a movie like that ("Murphy's Romance") with James Garner, about a divorced mom setting up a ranch.  That's the only one I can think of at the moment.
