Raquel Welchwent from an international icon to a recluse in the final years before her death, RadarOnline.com has learned. As this outlet reported, the movie actress — who broke on the scene in 1966 with her back-to-back roles in Fantastic Voyage and One Million Years B.C. — died on Wednesday after suffering a brief illness. Welch was 82 years old. Mega© Radar OnlineMega RadarOnline.com saw Welch for the last time in July 2022.
The sixties sex symbol was seen walking around the 90210 area code before stopping in a Beverly Hills salon. Her outing didn't appear to go as planned — as she looked miserable and in pain during her pedicure. The pamper session was the first time Welch had been spotted in public since September 2021 — and before that, it had been almost two years since the star was photographed.
Her rep confirmed the news about her passing. Mega© Radar OnlineMega “The legendary bombshell actress of film, television and stage, passed away peacefully early this morning after a brief illness,” her rep confirmed in a statement to ABC. “Her career spanned over 50 years starring in over 30 films and 50 television series and appearances. The Golden Globe winner, in more recent years, was involved in a very successful line of wigs." The actress quickly rose to bombshell status with her barely-there outfit in B.C. Welch secured the #3 spot in Playboy's 100 Sexiest Stars of the 20th Century. She was also featured as one of the 100 Sexiest Stars in Film History in Empire magazine's 1995 special issue.
As her rep pointed out, Welch wasn't just praised for her beauty. She took home the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture Actress in a Musical or Comedy for the 1974 film The Three Musketeers — followed by plenty of more trophies throughout her career. Mega© Radar OnlineMega Welch's last role was playing Rosa in the 2017 one-season series Date My Dad. She was married four times during her life. The actress leaves behind two adult children — Tahnee and Damon Welch.

Why can't the paparazzi just leave aging actors alone?

What an awful report after an actor has died. I prefer not to read tabloids.

Maybe she didn't want to go out. Maybe her passing was a blessing as it sometimes is for those in pain and facing illness.
Why even speculate on things like that? Why just not remember how beautiful she was, talented and leave it at that?

I think growing old in Hollywood, especially when you were known for your beauty throughout your career, it is doubly hard to just be 80 and older... This is mostly towards women sadly..... men are treated differently when they age even when they age gracefully without plastic surgery. Men are allowed to grow older.... women, not so much.

Shame on Mega© Radar OnlineMega RadarOnline.com, I have one question for that author: Would you want your mother treated in that way?

She looks pretty good in the picture. She doesn't look 82.

It's repulsive. It's not as if she or others are going out looking for the attention. The same was done to Doris Day, Greta Garbo.....leave them alone.
There must be more decent ways to make a living.

After decades of being pursued by paparazzi, it's not surprising that she was reclusive. And a "brief illness" sounds like a good way to go.

@SeaMaiden It seems as though most of the Hollywood sexpots who were prominent and we saw constantly, fade into oblivion as they age. I can understand why they would prefer to be remember as they were not as they are; gray, wrinkled and puffy possibly in pain or not feeling well.
I'm always amazed when death notices list their ages. It doesn't seem possible that Raquel was 82. Where do the years go?
