SURVIVOR--EDGE OF EXTINCTION--Possible spoilers

Tonight is the night!  I have to say, I'm kind of glad it is only an hour premiere.  There are some returning players, yes?  Do you think they will do any better than on their seasons?

Is everyone okay with one thread for the season?

It's only one hour?  I'm looking forward to it.

Isn't Aubrey one of the returning players?  I liked her past season.

I am really interested in the details of how this season’s twist is going to play out. Sounds really hard to me but it probably isn’t. I for one would want to amend the idols and advantages. Too many for my liking. But then what would they do or talk about at camp. They no longer have to find food or build chairs or bundle up clothing and leaves for pillows.

Wrong is still wrong just because you benefited from it.

Love Survivor!  So excited for the season. Returning people always get voted off eventually. Hope that changes this season. Would love and follow any thread on this topic. Thanks Dr.

I'm looking forward to it. I won't know who everyone is until halfway through the season, but it's fun entertainment.

@DrKelli

Last season people opted for one thread per week.  Also "Possible Spoilers" IMO is confusing.  It should just say Spoilers.  Not JMO.

Apologies, DrKelli, I just looked it up and we did one long thread for Davids vs. Goliaths.  It must be Project Runway I'm thinking of where a majority wanted a weekly thread.

I do think it should say Spoilers.  I read what Gardenman wrote and disagree; given one thread I think it's more important than ever that it say Spoilers so maybe start another one after it airs tonight or just before?  (I don't know what coast you're on.)   Or right now?

Yes, I am sooooooo looking forward to it.  I may  not be able to see it tonight, but I'm very, very excited.  The twist is unlike any they've had before and, well, hi, Joe!  Always nice to see ya!  Hope when he's voted out he chooses to stay.

Also @gardenman  not sure if you saw my post to you but there are over 300 islands that comprise Fiji.  And much like the Florida Keys, of which there are over a thousand, some are close to one another and some are quite far.  I still can't wrap my head around everyone being on their own island.

Yeah, I saw your post earlier. I saw that you enjoyed my idea of them forgetting someone was out there and finding them a year or two later like the Japanese soldiers who'd been forgotten on islands after WWII. Now that would be a heck of a twist! Leave someone there on an island all by himself/herself from one season to the next only to stumble upon them when you're back to shoot the next season. Talk about a Survivor! "So, that's why you didn't show up at the reunion show! We kept calling and calling but no one could reach you."

It's going to be interesting to see how many take advantage of this new twist and go to exile or extinction or whatever they're calling it. If all do, half the show could be spent catching up on each of them on their own little island. It would be kind of interesting if someone disappeared from one of the islands. Say a passing yacht found them and "rescued" them. "What do you mean he's not there? Where could he have gone? Did he try to swim off the island?" Someone could go missing for a few days/weeks before production ever figured out what happened to them.

"Where's my husband?"

"You know it's funny you should ask that. We don't know. We put him on an island and when we went back to check on him a few days later, he was gone. It's the strangest thing."

"You don't know where he is?

"We do know where he isn't however, so that's something. He's not where we put him, but other than that we don't know where he is."

"What?!?!"

"Don't worry though. The sharks around these islands are generally pretty small, so it's unlikely they ate him."

"There are sharks around the island where you left my husband?"

"They're generally pretty small sharks though. It's really more the stingrays and barracuda that cause the trouble. They can be nasty!"

The CBS reality show contracts pretty much let production do everything short of intentlonally killing a contestant, so pretty much anything goes. Forgetting someone's on an island, no biggie. It's covered. Whew!

And Dr. Kelly. I wouldn't worry about the possible spoilers. You can put "Spoilers" in capital letters, underlined and with flashing arrows pointing at it and someone will read the thread a week later and be upset that they learned something the rest of us knew for a week because they still hadn't watched the show on their DVR and didn't understand the thread contained spoilers. Possible spoilers is fine. Spoilers is fine. Someone will still be upset no matter what you do. Just keep doing what you do and don't stress over it. If I'm posting the day of the show or early the next morning, I typically post anything spoilerish in a spoiler window, but people can do whatever they want. You've got the word spoiler in the title so you're good.

Re: SURVIVOR--EDGE OF EXTINCTION--Possible spoilers

While I haven't found the past few seasons very exciting and quit watching each after a couple of weeks, this seems intriguing.
