STRANGERS ON A TRAIN 10:30 p.m.TCM FRI 12/17

Great film! This film was mentioned in a Law and Order: Criminal Intent rerun I was watching about a week ago, regarding sisters-in-law who were supposed to kill each others' husbands. The LOCI epi starred Rip Torn.

The film is from 1951. I haven't seen it in a long time and plan to watch it tonight.

I had read somewhere that he(RW) died before the film was completed (OD). Used older filming, etc as fill ins.

Engrossing thriller with those psychological overtones that Hitchcock draws out so masterfully.  Robert Walker was so creepily good!   I always think that Farley Granger and Ruth Roman together make one of the most beautiful onscreen couples...

Hitchcock's young daughter, Pat, is impressive also, as an amiably spunky "kid sister" type--  I enjoy the quirky energy she gives off, and her confidence.

[ Edited ]

"Strangers" was filmed in autumn of 1950 and released in June 1951. Walker died in August 1951 shortly after the film was released to terrific reviews and acclaim for his performance.

He was making another film after "Strangers. ", "My Son John." He died during production on this movie and shots of him from "Strangers " were inserted.
