I was watching channel 7 WABC earlier last night when all of a sudden the TV went blank & a message came on the screen stating that the Disney company & Spectrum cable are in a dispute regarding the cost of channel 7 WABC, the Disney channel, ESPN & a few other channels will no longer be available on Spectrum cable!!!...I use Spectrum as my cable provider so this effects me .... I pay $250.00 a month for cable & only look at channel 7 WABC for General Hospital, & channels 480,481 for QVC & 490 for the Gem Shopping channel...SPECTRUM is blaming Disney & Disney is blaming Spectrum for this fiasco ... I don't believe either one of them ..they are both money hungry company's & I wish there was another way to get around this to kick them in the groin... I am so angry that I want to scream!!!

Not a fan of Spectrum..money grubbers.  I understand your frustration.

We finally cut the cord on cable last year and never missed it one minute; wished I'd done it sooner when I first contemplated it. Saving a ton of money for cable...and mine wasn't as expensive as yours, about $123.00 a month for expanded basic cable (that they kept reducing channels on.) I really wasn't watching any tv on it anymore, always streaming on my iPad instead.

 

Of course it depends what you like to watch but, we got a Roku and just have internet streaming now...Roku has SO many apps and channels. They have all the channels and shows available on cable as far as I've seen too.

That happened to me at exactly midnight as the box clock was now Sept. 1! Don't mess with my Law and Order!!..all channels were out for about 15 minutes.

Up here Spectrum is really the only game in town..My local phone company offers cable..

as expensive as Spectrum and they always have total outages.

WIFI is difficult in the mountains.

Its not just Spectrum that does that.  All providers have to negotiate when their contracts with stations come up for renewal.  It happens from time to time on our Direct TV.

@January121   You think your Spectrum bill is high... here's my story.

 

We too have Spectrum years ago after they bought out Time Warner which we also hated. Spectrum is doing what they call big upgrades to make everything better. Better according to who????  About a month ago I strated getting a bunch of emails from them to get here to do upgrades which of course meant outside pole work and inside too. So I broke down, mde an appointment. After fooling around with the cable line to the tv, he changed out spliters on both tvs, fooled around with the remotes to "work better". 

 

A few days after the remotes didn't work as he "fixed" them b/c he said we weren't using them properly to turn on/off tvs. Then two weeks later the bill showed up. It went from from $269 to $280+  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

The cable guy didn't say they were passing their updates onto home owners, those of us who have Spectrum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I haven't had a conversation with anybody from the company yet on why the increase but I certainly will.

 

AND the cable still doesn't work properly - fuzzy screen, freeze-ups, tv goes blank, program guide had a total screwup in totally changing titles of programs with the channels they were supposed to be on. I HAD TO reboot the box myself to get things square again - all for the modest cost of $280 a month. I do not think so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  This doesn't even account for them for no reason taking away channels we used to have - they're infamous for doing this - OFTEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also have spectrum.   I tried to watch GH on demand this morning and ABC is not a network option.   I didn't know why until I read these posts.   Thanks for the info.

All cable companies are the same. Greedy. I cut the cord last year when my bundled cable/phone bill went to $247. I had Astound (formerly RCN). They didn't even care to negotiate. They just told me to return my 2 cable boxes to their office. From the looks of the piles of cable boxes on the floor, I wasn't the only one. You would think with the other options available anymore, they'd try and retain their customers. I now have a firestick, which can be a pain and cell phone only.
