SMASH: "Bombshell" OCR Released

SMASH fans rejoice! Our beloved program featuring a show-within-a-show has just released the "Bombshell" OCR (Original Cast Recording).

If you enjoyed the songs that were part of the TV show's Broadway musical "Bombshell," then here's the CD for you. An extended intro of the famous "Let Me Be Your Star" leads off 22 marvelous tracks that include "History Is Made At Night"; "Cut, Print...Moving On"; "Let's Be Bad"; "Mr. & Mrs. Smith"; "The National Pastime"; "On Lexington & 52nd Street"; "Don't Say Yes Until I Finish Talking"; "I Never Met A Wolf Who Didn't Love To Howl"; "The 20th Century Fox Mambo"; "Second Hand Baby Grand".

There's a Deluxe Edition available exclusively at Target with a bonus CD that includes never-before-released recordings plus an exclusive audio interview with the award-winning writers of "Hairspray," composer Mark Shaiman and lyricist Scott Wittman.

Please don't confuse the beautiful music here with last year's release, "The Music Of SMASH." I was very disappointed in most of the 13 tracks that CD included because only a few of the songs from "Bombshell" were mixed in with other previously unknown music from unknown sources. Perhaps they were rejected from the show. Who knows?

(NOTE: I was in a quandry as to whether this should be posted in TV Talk or Music, but I concluded that since this is an OCR, it would have more appeal to SMASH fans than pure music enthusiasts.)
