@mousiegirl,  you have "The Defenders" on DVD?   How great--  I think if we get one other series this coming year, it might be that terrific show.  And hubby has never seen any of it, so it would be brand new for him...  "Naked City" is another one I'd really, really like.  You've got a good library going.

@twinsister--  this is the first I've heard of METV plus!  Spill!  How do they differ from regular METV?  You are always up on the new channels.   I have a feeling we don't have it, but will check.

@Oznell   I just realized that it is the Public Defenders series that I bought on ebay eons ago, but looked at amazon for The Defenders to refresh my mind, saw the actors, and remember that now.

Re: SIXTIES COURTROOM DRAMA TO TRY ON DVD

Thanks, @twinsister --  Happy New Year to you and yours as well!  It sounds like METV Plus is a great addition to old METV, @twinsister --  lucky you.  I'd love to see the entire "Burke's Law" series with suave Gene Barry, among others.

@mousiegirl,  I've never heard of "The Public Defenders" show, but from the sound of it, I'd probably like it too.  Hope your New Year's is great and full of fun home decorating as usual!

@Oznell   I have the complete two seasons of Burke's Law also, bought a few years ago.

I have come to know a seller on ebay who has an enormous stash of old tv series, Burke's Law 80 episodes on 20 DVDs for $30.00.  If you are interested in seeing his catalog, I will get you his seller name and you can contact him to email you his catalog.  It is fun just to view it.

I have bought two compete tv series from him already, great quality, 400 episodes between the two.

@Oznell  and other fans of The Naked City, you can see the entire series FREE on the IMDB network.  I think Tubi and YouTube also have some episodes available to watch that will also be free viewing. You should probably be able to access any of these networks on your smart TV or using a streaming device such as ROKU or Amazon Fire Stick.

The Season One 30-minute episodes starring James Franciscus are included!  Clap

Re: SIXTIES COURTROOM DRAMA TO TRY ON DVD

Just an updated note to say, we now have only about 9 episodes left and I'm so sad!   "Sam Benedict" is one of those series, I believe, that got better and better as it went along.  So impressed with forceful Edmond O'Brien and the spectacular roster of guest stars they had every week.

We just saw an episode with Brian Keith, in which he gave such an interesting, heart-breaking, unexpected performance.  He is truly one of the underrated greats, and should have had an even splashier career than he did, in my opinion...

Well, if anyone's interested in dynamic courtroom dramas of the Sixties,  "Sam Benedict" is a winner.

Re: SIXTIES COURTROOM DRAMA TO TRY ON DVD

I am not at all familiar with the Sam Benedict series but it sounds like a good one, Edmond O'Brien always a great performance.  Twenty eight episodes  isn't much but many good series are not long lived on TV.

The Defenders, Naked City, Perry Mason, Streets of San Francisco, Honey West, Police Woman were some of my favorites among others.  I wish MeTV would add some of these series to there schedule.

@BoopOMatic   There are two sellers on ebay who sell old tv series.  The one who offers a catalog which should NOT be mentioned through ebay.  One must buy something from his ebay store of dvds, and only then will you receive his email address in the package to request he email you a catalog.  If you are willing to do this, let me know and I will post both of them.
