Worth watching if only for William Warfield's showstopper Old Man River number (which Paul Robeson sang in the 1936 version).

That song, as sung by Warfield, is so powerful and dramatic that it brings me to tears listening to it.

I just listened to Warfield's Old Man River on YouTube  (scene from the film) and yep, brought me to tears.
