Definitely yes! Even reluctant hubby said "that was pretty good"

He is a good sport. I go to golf tournaments and he pretends to enjoy musicals.

One time in NYC- Kinky Boots, he leaned over after a few minutes and said "they are all men, right?"

Love Showboat. My favorite is the 1938 version, especially Paul Robeson's Old Man River and Helen Mogan's My Bill. Tears every time.

 

I own it on DVD.

I enjoy all of Howard Keel's movies and had the opportunity to see him on stage (long ago) in "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers". Who could possibly have been more handsome in the Gaylord Ravenal role in "Showboat"? The costumes and scenery for "Show Boat" are beautiful. I will be watching and thanks for the reminder.
