SATURDAY EVA MARIE SAINT DAY ON TCM

"Summer Under the Stars" is winding down now, with only a few all-day actor festivals left.  This tribute to Eva Marie Saint has most of her more-frequently seen greats:  "On the Waterfront",   "North by Northwest",  "A Hatful of Rain".

 

Also:

 

6:00 a.m. Eastern--  "The Sandpiper"  Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Eva Marie Saint    Eva Marie is somewhat wasted in a thankless part as the deceived wife, but the movie's a fun popcorn-tosser.

 

9:00 a.m. Eastern--  "36 Hours"   Eva Marie Saint, James Garner, Rod Taylor    Wonderful World War II psychological thriller!  Eva Marie gives a lovely, nuanced performance as a duplicitous but decent nurse with a secret...

 

2:00 p.m. Eastern--  "All Fall Down"   Brandon de Wilde, Warren Beatty, Eva Marie Saint, Karl Malden, Angela Lansbury

 

Intensely probing drama of family conflicts and romance, from a novel that was adapted for the screen by playwright William Inge ("Picnic",  "Splendor in the Grass".)

 

The radiant Miss Saint is also seen @ 8:00 a.m. Eastern in her 2014 interview at the TCM Classic Film Festival.  We're so lucky this enduring, elegant star is still with us!
