SAND AND SURF ESCAPE WITH TCM WEDNESDAY PRIMETIME EASTERN

image-w1280.jpg

I think there are some beach movie aficionados here who might go for this extended 'party by the waves' right about now.

Here's the schedule, starting at 8:00 p.m. Eastern and continuing right into Thursday morning.  I don't know any of the plots, but the sybaritic idea of "Palm Springs Weekend",  at 11:30 p.m. Eastern, with Troy, Connie, Stefanie Powers and Robert Conrad, sounds nostalgically alluring!

@Oznell

Thanks for letting me know. I have to see if I've seen any of these and DVR.

These are really cute movies. I saw this one not long ago.

I like Palm Springs Weekend and have it on DVD.  It's a California version of Where the Boys Are.  Thanks for the alert, will watch it, if I don't fall asleep!

Yes, "Palm Beach Weekend" sounds so inviting and potentially rather glamorous, which some others like "Muscle Beach Party", shown later on, decidedly do not (to me)!

I never liked those beach party films even back in the day. 🏖 🌊 I preferred suspense like Hitchcock films even as a girl.

@Oznell

As much as I love Troy D., I don't think I've ever seen this one.

So happy I have a beachy diversion for this evening!

Thanks!

I love these type movies and always DVR them. They are fun, enjoyable and uplifting entertainment.  I really enjoy Palm Spring weekend and Where the Boys are and also the surfer movies with Frankie Avalon and Annette!  They bring back that fifties culture through the story lines, the outfits and settings.

I watch them when I need to escape.  I will admit the acting isn't top rated and the themes outdated but I find them light and cheerful and that is good for me!

Robert Conrad is a rich bad boy in this one!! Also stars Ty Hardin, remember him?

twin, I can't even remember  the beach in this. I seem to recall night life and craziness and sports cars but I can't say I thought it was a beachy movie. Was it?

The best thing about the Frankie and Annette movies was Frankie singing. When I watch him on HSN I keep saying, sing, Frankie, sing! But he keeps talking about his grandmother's recipes, lol.
