Remembering Eric Fleming, who tragically drowned on this day in 1966. Best known for starring on Rawhide, Fleming was filming "High Jungle", a two-part episode of the anthology series 'Off to See the Wizard', on location in Peru when his canoe overturned in the Huallaga River and the current swept him away. Fleming was 41. 🙏

Re: Remembering Eric Fleming

I love Eric Fleming too, @drizzellla .   He really "makes" Rawhide for me, with his sometimes enigmatic, low-key style.  Had he lived, I'm sure he'd have done other great things.

Re: Remembering Eric Fleming

@drizzellla DH & I frequently watch Rawhide...one of our channels runs several episodes daily. I vaguely remember watching as a kid, but very much enjoying the show now! Eric Fleming, along with Clint Eastwood's "Rowdy", are my favorites.

Re: Remembering Eric Fleming

My mom had the biggest crush on him.

Faithful watchers at our house.

She would be 94 next month

Re: Remembering Eric Fleming

My father always watched Rawhide when I was a kid, so I remember Eric Fleming.

So very sad he died at such a young age.  He was perfect as the boss in Rawhide. I  occasionally watch it on ME TV.
