I agree. And really Charlie ads were almost 50 years ago.

This is an example of "let herself go".
I'm NOT saying she should have plastic surgery or whatever, but she needs to get herself to a hairdresser ... stat!
What if she were suffering from severe arthritis and doing her hair and makeup to run a little errand would be too painful, would you give her a pass?

I remember her. Always thought Shelly & Jaclyn were very beautiful women.
It's not the most flattering outfit or photo of her, but I'm assuming most of us have been there. I'm also assuming most of us don't have people taking candid photos of us to put on the Internet. Can't imagine it's fun to have paparazzi following you trying to get photos to sell. I guess that's one of the costs of fame.
When I see photos of aging celebrities it reminds me that I'm getting older too. I don't look like I'm 30 or 40 anymore. Seeing a younger photo and an older photo of someone puts life in perspective IMO. Time marches on. I know some people try their hardest to avoid looking old with surgeries and procedures. That's their choice, but age will eventually catch up if they live long enough.
Best Wishes to Shelly and All of Us as we age and live our lives.

An aside or two, but Shelly Hack brings back the '70s to me. And even though the Charlie ads ran into the '80s, she was the face of that commercial during that time (along with the wonderful Bobby Short and, after him, Mel Tormé). Lithe and energetic, she always looked like she just walked off a glamorous photo shoot. She's had an impressive and accomplished life beyond acting, too.
As far as the picture goes, I probably wouldn't have been able to identify it as hers--same with the always-adorable Mary Kay Place. Also, Bridget Fonda, a couple years ago. So as much as I like seeing "where are they now?" type stories, I often wonder how in the world the photographers even know who they are in such cases. For the most part, they've been out of the public spotlight for years...unless they're being stalked 24/7, who'd even recognize them? Very strange. And it doesn't seem like the right thing to do.

Is she meeting Mary Kay Place?

If she was "unrecognizable", how and who recognized her??..
Very odd.

Ah Shelly! She was hired by Eileen Ford a few years before I met her. Eileen Ford was a pit bull who demanded excellence and one pound over the goal weight she demanded of you and you were canned. Shelly was a heavy smoker at the time to keep her weight down. She was a very pleasant, genuinely nice person and I had the opportunity to meet her back in the seventies.
I have no idea why anyone would have the audacity to snap a photo of her without her permission. She looks beautiful, though and I am happy to see she clearly is still the natural beauty she always was.
