@Kachina624  There are many political threads here but not everyone sees them.

I was born in Pasadena and went to the Rose Parade every year as a child.   I remember how the parade smelled from all those flowers.

I saw the news as well.

My DD marched in that parade with her high school years ago

Her school still applies to go every 5 years.

It's such an awesome trip for the students.

I heard the Macy's Thanksgiving parade is cancelled too.

DD marched in that one as well.

Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years is going to be very sad.

Re: ROSE PARADE CANCELLED

[ Edited ]

Cancelling a parade or a New Year's Eve party is a small sacrifice to save more lives.

I consider 2020 a lost year. Nothing will be the same for a while. I've accepted that.
I'm just thankful that I haven't lost any family members to this virus.

Not for me it ain't!  Since I'll be staying put in NJ,  I'll be hitting the casinos.  Already booked my reservations.

Every night I pray that this horrible novel coronavirus fizzles out and does not return for a second wave.  Yes, I believe in doing the prudent thing (such as supporting cancellations) but I am feeling the wretchedness of all this sad life.

HATE IT!  A juvenile response, I know, but some days I am fed up.

Perahps not as overtly political as some other posts and threads that are given a free pass, so why not this one. As for the parade, it's a real shame. Still another sacrifice to the almight virus. This is the only parade I ever watched growing up and I still try to catch it each year.

I agree.  I have also decided that 2021 will be spent at home avoiding contact with others.  Hoping that 2022 might bring a better outlook.
