No, I don't watch much of the Olympics, but I like to read and I have Netflix, Britbox , Acorn and Amazon Prime video, so I'm well entertained.

I hadn't heard of Britbox before! I may have to pick that one up! If I could get my parents to remember how to use their Roku, I'd subscribe for them. My dad got a free Roku when he donated to their local PBS channel - he even donated more than usual just to get the Roku. They waited for me to come home to visit so I could hook it up and haven't touched it since. It only gets used when I come to visit. I left the thing logged into all my accounts so they can watch whatever they want without a subscription, but they just don't think about it.

I noticed that TNT is airing a new episode of "The Alienist" tonight for those who watch this program.

@Shanus I agree with you.  It seems like so many shows are put on hold.

I know there are people who don't watch much TV, but I like watching TV.  Since my husband died, I live in this house and it keeps me company.

There are days when I hurt so bad it's difficult to go from one room to another.  TV is a way of escape for me.

I used to read a lot but when you're in pain you can't concentrate on a book, so the TV provides a distraction.

I'm lucky that I get every channel Comcast offers, but I am picky.  There are a few 'regular' channels on shows I watch.  I watch a lot of cable shows too.  But even those are many repeats.

I think (no, I'm sure) it's a way for the networks to save money.  Those that aren't showing the Olympics (NBC) they are showing repeats or something no one wants to watch anyway.....Ha!

@Annabellethecat66  I’m sorry you’re having such a difficult time. 💕

@steviebwrote:

Different strokes, I guess, because even though I'm hardly glued to the screen during the Olympics, there's not much I'm missing. I hardly thought 'regular' TV offered all that much compelling viewing in the first place...

@stevieb  I’m looking forward to my regular series type shows like Blue Bloods, The Resident. There are few shows that are reality tv I can do without.

I definitely am looking forward to the regular shows returning.   I am missing one of my favorite shows...Seal Team...

I love my guy David Boreanz.   There's something about a guy in uniform.   Heart

Of course, my other favorite guy in uniform...Shemar Moore.. is no slouch either.

Re: READY FOR REGULAR PRIMETIME TV

Yes, I also miss my regular TV series.  I have been watching most of the Olympic events.  I channel change a lot, too many commercials. I'm not recording any Olympic programs.

Some events are so slow (such as cross-country skiing) and I lose interest.

Tonight I'll watch The Bachelor and The Alienst.
