I don't watch "The Voice" often, but wondered about one thing: the show changes coaches quite often, so what happens with this change? Does the contestant on that team lose their mentor, and have to find someone else? or are they just out of luck and have no one?

I don't see how the coaches can do any good mentoring contestants when they keep leaving the show.  Maybe I'm off, but there could be a bad work atmosphere in "the Voice.", otherwise why dont' people stay? Maybe someone who watches every week can answer this.

Re: Question about "The Voice."

I used to watch it a lot but haven't in many years. I don't recall any judge leaving in the middle of the season.  I know they have changed before a new season began. I also wonder why The Voice has never had a "breakout" star like American Idol has?

Re: Question about "The Voice."

There are three judges that are always the same.  Blake Shelton, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson.  There is only one that changes each season unless they decide to keep on longer.

Re: Question about "The Voice."

Last night's episode was a strange one in which kelly clarkson wasn't there because she was sick.  Normally the coach is there for every episode.  She was present for the rehearsal session.

They don't change judges during the season.  Last night was unusual because Kelly was sick.  They said she tested negative for Covid but was quarantining anyway.

I don't watch the show enough to keep up with how judges are replaced, so I appreciate the replies. Didn't know that three judges are consistent, thought it was more than that.

@LuvmyLab -

I don't watch anymore either but I do remember Jordan Smith singing Chandelier. He's pretty successful.

And then there is Cassadee Pope who was nominated for a grammy award.

Christina Grimmie was one of the best singers and performers I've ever heard who was tragically shot and killed afte

r her concert in Orlando. She didn't know her killer who then shot himself. She was only 22. After her rendition of Miley Cyrus' Wrecking Ball, and herver o 100 million youtube views she became very popular. That was just so sad.

I got to hear her on the voice when she first sang on it.

Re: Question about "The Voice."

The coaches sign on for a season and see it all the way through. Once the season is over, the contestants move on and the producers sign on coaches for another season. Some stay for a number of seasons, some just one, some come and go. Blake is the only original one that has been on all seasons.

I personally like the change in coaches, it gives variety to the show.

Kelly is only off right now because these episodes were filmed in January and she was sick. With Covid guidelines, even though she supposedly didn't have Covid, she couldn't report to the set, and they put in a sub.

I think people don't realize that these shows are filmed in advance at this stage, and in a much shorter span than that in which they are aired. Each round of this (like the blinds, the battle rounds, the knockouts etc.) are filmed in just a couple of days, not spread out for weeks like they are aired.

@on the bay   @LuvmyLab   Cassadee Pope has been the most successful and Danielle Bradbury is second.  She's a country singer.  I think it's surprising there hasn't been a break out star, too.  Adam Levine always said that the record company didn't promote them well.
