My daughter added me to her netflix account.  I haven't been watching because I have my favorites on regular TV.  I briefly looked at the lineup of shows on Netflix but can't really find anything new that I would be interested in. I like comedy but nothing to kooky, I like love stories, drama but no violence or scary stuff. Any recommendations ?

Emily in Paris is fun and romantic with great scenery and fashion. The Queen's Gambit is a great series about a chess savant. Also the Queen is a fine series about Queen Elizabeth. I know there is a lot to choose from, but try some shows you don't have to finish them if you are bored , but you might find some favorites.

The Crown is great. There are also some enjoyable Christmas movies. If you scroll through the TV and Movies Forum, you will find threads on many series and movies that are available on Netflix.

Re: Question about netflix

[ Edited ]

I have really enjoyed watching the tv series Heartland.  It is about a horse ranch in Alberta Canada.

I think there are 12 seasons of it available on Netflix.

@Goodie2shoes.  Look up the series called "Heartland".  Its a long-time series produced in Canada and filmed near Banff National Park, about a ranch family.  Beautiful scenery..  There is no violence or bad language but it's engrossing and entertaining.  Be sure to start with Season 1; there's enough to ke e p you entertained for weeks.  There are currently 11 long seasons available with more coming.

I've become addicted to Netflix because NO COMMERCIALS

Shows on regular TV go to the DVR so I don't have to watch commercials

I didn't see Ozark mentioned, I loved it

I also liked House of Cards, it's not for everyone.

Right now I'm watching Wentworth about an Austrailian women's prison, so beware

I recently watched the movie Hillbilly Eligy, excellent.

I also watched the Brit series Sherlock, with Benedict Cumberbatch & Martin Freeman.  Just watching them is a treat.   The story lines stretched the imagination.

I have a hard time finding stuff too, I usually get suggestions from my grown daughter or word of mouth, like on here.
