TY, @kindred cats, but I knew about his sister. My question was why did the challenge 'trigger' him?

There hasn't been the drama as the early seasons, so not as entertaining, but Christian makes it watchable.

LOL about Korto, @mousiegirl.

Please allow me to add Bishme as the resident sadsack. In his prior season I remember thinking of him as Eeyore.

Of course I understand that he sadly recently lost his sister, but regardless, he still wanted to come on the show.

Maybe someone could clue me in as to why this challenge was so 'triggering' to him? He said that multiple times. Perhaps I missed the reason.

One of the designers who surprised me was Anna, who'd left her season because of illness. Talk about a change in persona! Smiley Very Happy

Kayne's design was gorgeous.

I wouldn't consider many of them as being part of an all star cast.

@sabatini  I agree that none of them are all stars, and I bet others were asked but declined.  The all stars are busy with their design businesses, I imagine.

I watched the rerun last night, and he said that because he was having to deal with the original design, it reminded him of his sister, so maybe she was ill during his season.

I find that Christian is usually right, whereas I found Tim to be wrong quite a bit, lol.

When Christian said that this group is the most talented of all of the designers, I couldn't believe my ears, such nonsense.

I think they should have sent Laurence home last night.  She obviously didn't care about what her design looked like.  Christian liked her early version, I'm not sure where she got so off track.  I loved the pink foofoo dress--I thought it was so pretty.

I actually don't like the unconventional materials challenge.  Some seasons get better materials than others.  I though last night was pretty difficult.  I thought the dinosaur jacket was hilarious.  I have a dress with t-rexs on it and it makes me laugh every time I wear it.  I usually wear it for the night club dances at competitions and there's always some snooty ballroom b***** that makes a comment about it.

I found this:

"As Project Runway All Stars gets underway, the designers are given their first task which is to reinvent their “worst” look from their season.

While some designers joked that they had to seek “therapy” for their previous work, others felt genuinely uneasy at the thought of revisiting the time they created the look.

Looking at his “worst” work, Bishme said that he felt “triggered” by the challenge. But, didn’t want to “get into his head.”

The Project Runway star had been dealt the sad news that his sister was terminally ill with cancer when he was taking part in season 17."

@DrKelli I think it was because she ran out of time to do her original idea. She commented about how long it took her to just make that headpiece and what she had drawn out included some of that work on the dress too.  I'm kinda glad they gave her a 2nd chance.  I really liked her leather jacket last week.

I sorta disagree with Nina that this was the best of the unconventional challnege runways.  Maybe overall it was in that most of the designs didn't scream homemade, but I do remember there being some phenomenal UC designs on past seasons.

I watched the episode last night, and loved the winning look.

Where Mila and Laurence are concerned, I thought it was fitting that Mila left. They were right about her outfit.

As far as Laurence is concerned, you can't send someone home for attitude, and I can see how someone like her is devoid of whimsy.

It takes all kinds to make a world.

But I didn't like Laurence's design either. The hood, though creative, was typical for her, and the rest of the outfit looked like something that Wilma Flintstone would wear.

@mousiegirl, thanks for that info. I get it now, and can see why he was upset.

I think both Laurence and Mila should have been sent home myself.  I didn't think Rami's was that bad to be that low.  Laurence was sure confrontational with Nina and Nina was right in that she didn't make an effort.  It was a boring color too.  The hood didn't help matters.

Love Viktor's and Kayne.  A hard decision for me.

Brittany's was just a pink dress.  Nothing special and I didn't think it was that unconventional but that's just me.

Gosh, could that guest judge, Stacy Bendet, wear any more black eye makeup?  Sheesh!

What happened to Karli Kloss. Will she not be coming back. I liked her. I thought she was a good host.

@lenapecci Karli stepped away in season 19 after the birth of her first son.  She is now expecting her second child.
