Very high praises for this series which I am watching for the first time.

The series was made in the 90’s.

Always have enjoyed Helen Mirren in any movie, but didn’t realize the full energy of her talent until watching her as Detective Jane

Terrific series. She is phenomenal in it. Everything about Prime Suspect( the original) was so 👍🏿. The character development of Jane is excellent.

The writing is so tight——- there is a lot of dealing with the ramifications of that fact the “guv” is a woman- not a popular choice.

Well, that's a blast from the past. 30 years ago. I did watch it back then but that was before Helen Mirren became.....Helen Mirren, the star.

I wish it would come to Prime or Netflix. The perfect dark British detective series. A little off topic but I would also recommend Scott and Bailey on Prime. It’s about two female detectives in Manchester, kind of a modern Cagney and Lacey.

I saw this series when it was first on and it was/is an excellent well acted detective series. Mirren was outstanding then and continues to be so. Enjoy the show!
