@Oznell wrote:Hey, I can't stand movies in which someone is held hostage either, @ECBG ! Thanks for thinking up a whole genre of "dislikableness"....
Conversely, almost any movie in which the protagonist has amnesia, and is "searching for their past or "their identity", I tend to love!
@Oznell Ya know, I see that as "misery" and that just isn't entertainment to me.
I do love thrillers, dramas, period pieces, some sci fy, and romances.

Ugh movies (IMO) - Pulp Fiction - Rocky movies - Godfather movies - Zoolander - Xanadu - Mama Mia - Deer Hunter. Saw Deer Hunter on date with my now husband. To this day - it bothers me. I should have sat in the lobby and waited for the group.
Except for Shawshack Redemption, I don't like prison movies. Drug themes, mafia, overly violent war movies and cowboy movies don't interest me.
But I did enjoy Knives Out movie yesterday. Twists and turns and all.

The Sound of Music...ugh. I can't stand movies where they bust out into song all the time.
The Blair Witch...kept wondering when the scary part started and it NEVER DID.

Oh not you aren't. I hated the Sound of Music and also Gone With the Wind, West Side Story, It's a Wonderful Life, that Ralphie xmas movie and many other popular films. Oh Goodfellows. My friend and I walked out. Also walked out of Murder on the Orient Express and Moonstruck.

@Shelbelle wrote:Top Gun, another good one that I hated!!!
Which reminded me, anything with Tom Cruise, too.
I think he's mostly overrated but I did think he did a , surprisingly, great job in the movie Magnolia

Just thought of another one: There's Something About Mary. Most people say that it's one of the funniest movies ever. I thought it was horrible and stupid and couldn't finish it. I guess it's just not my type of humor, although I like Ben Stiller and Cameron Diaz.
