Pat Carroll was also the voice of Grandma Arbuckle in A Garfield's Christmas which is my favorite Christmas cartoon.  I even have the book that came out.  RIP Pat

She was a wonderful actress.

 

My favorite role of hers was as Miep Gies in Freedom Writers. Miep was the courageous woman who hid Anne Frank and her family. The students invited her to their school to speak. Pat exuded an amazing mix of solemnity, courage and humanity.  

 

May she rest in peace.

She upstaged Mary Tyler Moore when she played Mary's roommate in a hospital in a Mary Tyler Moore episode. Pat Carroll was very funny.
