Part Three, Movie DVD Recommendations

Actually, just two more for now:

"The Moon-Spinners"--   Hayley Mills again, yay.  Teenage girls love this suspense film, and so does the teenage girl in all of us!  Based on the classic Mary Stewart mystery novel.  Hayley and her musicologist aunt are on vacay from gray Britain in the exotic, sparkling Greek isle of Crete.  Something is immediately amiss at their hotel with the very fishy owner, (Eli Wallach) and his cowed and submissive sister, (Irene Pappas).

Almost immediately, Hayley stumbles over a handsome Brit, (Peter McEnery), hiding in the spectacular Greek countryside, and it all goes from there....  Also stars Joan Greenwood and a very exotic Pola Negri...

"Witness to Murder"--   Chic, confident Barbara Stanwyck is an interior decorator who lives alone, and one sleepless night observes what appears to be a neighbor in the apartment across the way, subduing and killing a woman.  She calls in the skeptical police (Gary Merrill, quite cute in this part).  The neighbor in question, George Sanders at his snarky best, starts playing a cat and mouse game with her, so much so that she, and others, start to question her sanity....

We Stanwyck fans are so lucky, because in her long career, she played so many juicy parts in movies like this.  This is the only DVD I own of one of her films, but I can't wait to collect more-- her movies are eminently re-watchable...
