So, how many are left? I watched it the other night. Maybe one more left?

I loved the entire episode on Thursday, 22nd....they did it just right....I think we will see Zeek walk Sara down the isle....but will not see his death....but since we know he won't be getting the surgery we can all know what the outcome will be in the near future....

I love that Amber named the new baby after her grandfather.....and soooooo glad that they got Julia and Joel back together....

I never like Sara's new guy, ( Ray Barone, LOL) but glad she found a love interest that wasn't a jerk....I like the school teacher way more for her!

Last episode this coming week, why is it that the good, wholesome family shows get taken off the air???? It's sad...

they are tying up all the loose ends, aren't they.

after this week's episode, i don't think they will have a dying scene for zeke, either. they may show him asleep, in a chair and you draw our own conclusions. i hope the brothers patch things up too. i'm not crazy about "ray barone" either. he seems too weak for sara, making her the caregiver, for him.

get the tissues out for the last episode. sorry to see series go, but it's time.

Oh, the tissues were already out last week. Loved the entire show!! From Zeek and Camille walking (having my husband commenting on how it reminded him of us since he's got a bad back and can't walk fast or too far) to mom and daughter singing to Amber having her baby and naming him Zeek, to Julia and Joel getting back together but realistically handling it realizing that all problems don't magically vanish, to Max's parents convincing him that he will have a great future when you know that they worry if that will be true. I will miss this show so, so, so, so much! 10sluvr, I think that you may have something there. Maybe they will just show him in a chair falling asleep.

I don't think Sarah and Ray are a good match. I agree with those of you who think he wouldn't be able to keep up with her. I mean she waited a long time to find the right person. It's almost as if she's afraid of being alone as Amber has her baby and won't NEED her (since Amber will be mothering her own child). Just saying.....

That's a good idea on how they will have one last person dying off. It was realistic the way Julia and Joel discovered 'making up' in a marriage isn't as easy as they thought.

I thought it was interesting the way Joel was so surprised that she'd had more than one partner since he'd left just since he hadn't.

I don't know how people think because I was married 38 years when my husband died. We got married at the age of a young 19. We'd both done a lot of living before that and talked it ALL out. That works for some, not so much for others.

I hope they are going to be OK. It shows how children suffer emotionally just because parents are so selfish.

Well, that finale was absolutely wonderful! Loved how they showed us what the future held for all of them. Loved how they dealt with Zeek's death.10sluvr, you got it right. GOes down as my top 2 finales with the other one being 6 Feet Under.

WOW! Some of you got it exactly right about Zeek and the chair. I was hoping they wouldn't kill him off, but afraid they would. It took a lot of Kleenex. Why do all the quality shows get canceled?

That's pretty much what I said on the other thread in Viewpoints. I also compared the ending to that of "Six Feet Under," one of the best series endings ever. I also admired them not having a "final death scene." They handled it beautifully, and I will be watching it again.

I wonder since the character that played Adam, Peter Krause, was on Six Feet Under, if he had some input on the ending of Parenthood. It made me think of how Six Feet Under ended, not as advanced into the future, but still similar. Glad they let us see a little bit of how their lives were going.

I agree with all who said the show's ending was wonderful. I am not a fan of Ray Barrone but I admit that he played that part well. Although I liked Sarah with the teacher, it never felt like a relationship that would make it long-term. He was so young and didn't have any children of his own so eventually that probably would have become an issue in their marriage. I think Sarah had so much insecurity in her life that she really needed someone who she knew would at the very least be an adult even if he couldn't always show his emotions. At the end he realized that she was worth him trying to change. That's all you ask of anyone.

Loved that Joel and Julia realized that they had too much going for them to walk away. I also liked that Joel seemed surprised when Julia said something "We both slept with other people". He didn't and I remember her sleeping with at least three other men.

I read that Craig Nelson (Zeek) didn't want his character to die. I didn't either but I was glad that it didn't happen until the last show and that they gave us a glance into all of the families' futures. I also plan to watch the last episode again and again.
