Re: PROJECT RUNWAY SPOILER - 2/27/19

I thought it was funny that every designer thought gender neutral meant t-shirt and jeans, which is my work uniform and I only say uniform because I wear some version of it every day.

Merican (Anthony Ryan's model) was on another show, but I can't quite place it.  Was it America's Next Top Model?

I really didn't like any of the designs--I thought they were all pretty basic.  I will say that Michelle's looked like it had been pooped on.

I thought the show was on the boring side tonight.  Will there be a fashion show at the end with 3 designers or will they just choose one winner and no show.

Question - What happened to Heidi Klum?

@Katcat1 , I don't know how it's going to end.  At one point someone was saying tonight's show was going to be the final episode, so I have no idea.

Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn are starting a new venture on Amazon Prime.  I think it's going to be some sort of fashion show where you can buy the items.  Not sure if it's a competition or not though.

That was me, @Icegoddess , because Wikipedia only went up to next week.  But I can't imagine they won't show the finale which in the past has been three designers doing a mini-collection (six pieces I think), they have a few days to do it and it walks the runway in the studio.

Yes, Wikipedia still only goes up to next week but I suppose it's because the show's a year old and no one cares anymore.  But I can't  imagine them not showing the finale.

Yes, Heidi and Tim's new Amazon show will be a competition with the fashions available after the show.

Does anyone remember Fashion Star on one of the three networks?  Jessica Simpson produced it and was one of three mentors, Nicole Ritchie was another and I forget the third.  There were buyers from Macy's, Saks and H&M and they bid on the fashions.  Whichever got the fashion for that week, it was for sale immediately after the show.

I loved that show!  But it was not a success.

@LoriLori, I remember it, barely, but didn't care for it.

@Icegoddess  Per the ratings neither did many people!  But it did launch Nikki Poulos who I think is quite talented.

And I found Jessica Simpson surprisingly knowledgeable (so many celebrities just license their names and have little to no involvement in their lines) and even maternal as a mentor, so there's that too.

I loved Fashion Star.  It was on NBC. I think there were 2 seasons of it.  I think the mentors were different in the 2nd season if I'm not mistaken or was it the stores?

You're right.  Great memory!

Season 1 was hosted by Elle MacPherson.  The stores were as I recall, Macy's and Saks and H&M.

The mentors were Jessica Simpson, Nicole Ritchie and John Varvatos.

Season 2 was hosted by someone named Louise Roe.  H&M left the show and was replaced by Express.  The mentors didn't change.

Reading about it I completely forgot that if a designer's creation wasn't sold they were up for elimination and every week one designer was eliminated.
