Georgina really has done a disservice to Merlaine. All those false compliments

making her believe she is a designer is cruel.

Just like last season of PR and the way they built up that young man whose name

alludes me at the moment. Then they shot him down in the finale.

Georgina is toast, her brand is done, I think they shouldn't make any more All Stars because they have no real all stars but that's not up to me...

...but Georgina won't be on it.

Count the people wearing Marchesa on the Oscars Red Carpet.  So far at all the other awards shows:  zero.

And while if you're watching the Red Carpet look for people wearing Christian Siriano and Michael Costello.  They always have stars wear their creations on every Red Carpet.

@LoriLori

I understand what you are saying. I think it is unfair to punish the wife for the sins of the husband. For those who say she had to know...Well, there are a lot of wives you aren’t aware of everything their husbands do. From what I understand she is divorcing him.

@wilma, in principle I agree with you.  But this goes beyond that.  There's two other problems that I think have more to do with it:

Harvey Weinstein bankrolled the brand.  There would be no Marchesa if he had not put up the money for Georgina and her BFF.

And we now know that over the years many times he demanded of the stars of his movies that they wear Marchesa on the Red Carpets, especially when they were nominated.  If you google it you'll see some say he threatened them they better wear Marchesa or did other things to compel them.

So while Georgina will go quietly after PR All Stars season six is over, the stain on the Marchesa brand will probably last forever.

I can't care about actors being required to wear a Marchesa. They could have said no and chosen anther less competitive career. They were willing to do anything and did, got their cake and now want a bit of sympathy, free press, and a settlement. The public is just so easily led.

I do not think Georgina Chapman's days are over. She and her pig of a husband have reached a lucrative divorce settlement. If she uses her settlement wisely, she could rise above her connections to HW.  Because they were married does not mean she was not a victim.

I don't think this thing is as black and white as some do.  I do think  Marchesa is finished, what Georgina does next who knows.  @lulu1, there are plenty of women who marry men for their power and money and both.  Georgina could easily be one of those.  Because they were married does not mean she was a victim, either.  She could have known exactly what was going on, we can't assume she's complicit or innocent -- we will never know.

@occasionalrain, as for him compelling actresses to do things, a lot were younger and some walked away from their careers and some did what they could to wriggle away from him and some gave in.  My mother has told me many stories of old Hollywood that are just as sordid or more.  Many old-time actresses sleeping their way to the top of the studio, with the directors, etc.  One

difference is these days we talk about it.

And then there are millions of women who are not rich and famous who have to deal with this type of conduct on a regular basis and it isn't so easy to walk away, for them.

Merline should have gone home weeks before. Along with Josh.  I like him and his designs, but one dress was garbage.  He knew it, too.
