PRIMETIMER (PREVIOUSLY TV) FORUM

[ Edited ]

I have participated in this forum for MANY YEARS.  It was a bastion of humor, gossip, ideas, frank talk and intruiging theories for my "true crime shows."

I NEVER, EVER saw any examples of anyone "disrespecting" or not including any points of view or remarks about people with differing opinions and/or backgrounds.

The boards flourished with multiple comments about the shows I watch each and every day. MULTIPLE...

FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON, the website went through a "revamp" a few months ago.  It was shut down for a number of days and came back COMPLETELY CHANGED.

The FIRST THING THEY DID WAS TO ELIMINATE the SHOPPING CHANNELS from comment or inclusion.

Who knows who the mods are now?  Who knows the "influencers" or "consultants" who have apparently taken it over.

All I know is that the forum is now so "watered down" with rules, regulations, protocols, procedures and micromanaging, it is virtually unrecognizable.  There are zero comments for most of my shows and 1 or 2 for a very few others.

I'm at the point of disengaging because the responses are so sparce and rapidly disappearing altogether, so it's really not worth my time.

Yeah, it's dead now. Definitely, fewer people posting and less to talk about with the over moderation that's treats posters like children. Nothing to see here, folks!

Re: PRIMETIMER (PREVIOUSLY TV) FORUM

WOW!😮 I am sorry for your experience❤, but is it possible that people appear less interested because there are SO many categories for them to chose from? I do not recall heavy moderation in the TV and Movies forum but I do not visit them often.😁 There seems to be spirited discussions about QVC, HSN, hosts or vendors daily; including today.🥰

I know how it can be a tad frustrating at times. Sometimes a little break is all we need.❤ If you decide it is best to take one, I hope you return one day and can enjoy the forums as you once did!🤗

~~~All we need is LOVE💖
Once they changed their policies to be more inclusive and kind (and ridiculous), many of the moderators left. In addition to the elimination of the Shopping Channels boards, they also put the Married at First Site discussions on a warning that we were approaching elimination. Needless to say, I don't go there very often any more. I don't need to be treated like a child.
@Lisa now in AZ   The old adage applies:  "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
In my experience, any drastic negative change to an organization is fueled by $$$.  I'm thinking someone (or a group) with money, FOR SOME REASON, bought the website and inflicted those ridiculous "rules" on its viewers.
As with most ill-advised initiatives, those changes will likely lead to their financial ruin.
I'M DONE!
The site has been "glitchy" for me for quite a while now, I sure do miss all the clever and insightful posts there.  There was an attempt to start up another site called "Just Another Rabbit Hole" but it seems to have gone nowhere.
Many, many, many posters moved to a new forum for Shopping which has also attracted a huge number of new participants.
It's wild, it's crazy, it's highly unmoderated and is not for the faint of heart!
Many, many, many posters here would not be able to withstand it.
I didn't realize they revamped the whole thing.  I knew the shopping channel choice was gone.  Admittedly, I don't go there as often anymore,
I wish politics could be discussed here, that would be interesting.
How do you know this to be true?  Which moderators left?
