Oscar winner Louise Fletcher, perhaps best known for her portrayal of Nurse Ratched, has passed away at 88.

The American Film Institute named Nurse Ratched the fifth greatest villain   in all of film history;  the second greatest villainess.

Louise famously signed her acceptance speech for her deaf parents on March 29, 1976.  The film was released in November 1975.

 

With costar Jack Nicholson.  One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is one of 3 films to win the Big 5 Oscars: Picture, Director, Actor, Actress, Writing.  The others are It Happened One Night and The Silence of the Lambs.
