I didn't see any of these movies.  I've gotten to the stage in my life where I'm finding it difficult to go to see these people when they try to tell me how to run my life.  Besides it looks like the same group nominated for the other awards they give themselves.

I have always watched the Awards. First with my Mom when I was a kid. When I married we would talk about them the next day. Mom was a movie buff. She and her friends would go to the movies three times a week. She also went dancing and bowling. Home one night to get ready for the next week.

I like to watch when they are going there.  The evening gowns, etc.  My daughter loves watching the gowns (she wanted to be a designer and was ready to go to FIT) the only problem is ....ummm...how do I put this...talent!  Ha!

I don't watch any awards shows. They have turned it into a political forum and I am not interested in their views. They are there because of their performances not their political opinions.

I agree, political speeches aren't appropriate when accepting an award. I didn't like Meryl taking the opportunity to get on her soap box. The part where only football would be left on TV was overkill and way off. I couldn't listen to it all.
