I was reading some predictions, and most don't think that Meryl Streep is going to be nominated for FFJ...They think the girl Ruth Negga, from the movie Loving will bump Meryl out......I always like to see who is nominated and then I make my own predictions......It seems most people think it will be between the actors in Manchester By The Sea, and LaLa Land.

Thanks for the reminder, I love watching the Oscar noms live. I will be up early enough because I am every day.
I have to watch Loving as soon as it is available for home viewing.

If I was a betting woman, I wouldn't bet against Ms. Streep. But Ms. Negga did give an outstanding performance.

Meryl and Ruth Negga both nominated for Best Actress. Viola Davis supporting? That's strange.
Mel Gibson best director. Hacksaw Ridge got other noms. Guess Hollywood isn't always as unforgiving as some people think.
No nomination for Tom Hanks for Sully. I missed best and supporting actor but just heard that on GMA.

First year I will not watch in at lest 60 years. Too political. Not so much speeches, but Scully or Tom Hanks and Mel Gibson should have gotten a nomination unless I read wrong. HACKSAW RIDGE TRUE AND SCULLY.
Hollywood very unforgiving.

Merit issue versus entitlement vote, politically correct balloting.

Hacksaw Ridge got several nominations, it's all posted here. Mel Gibson Best Director, Best Picture, Best Actor Andrew Garfield
Also sound and editing noms. Tom Hanks had nothing to do with politics, I have no idea what his views even are. He was just not nominated, happens every year.
So there is zero political *confused*
